No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

So many dumb questions....

1. Yes, Spectrum Internet customers only.

2. Yes, you can trade in locked phones. They do not need to even be activated. Setup phone until you can get to a normal screen.

3. Trading in in-store has the benefit of an immediate discount (no waiting and guaranteed).

4. No 36 months BS. Pay in full. You can trade in online, but you will have to wait for the approval, and then you will need to contact Spectrum CS to have the amount refunded to your CC on file.

5. Trade-in value for good phones suck. Best deal is to buy something like the Moto G 2025 from Walmart for $30 to use as a trade-in.

6. Always set an appointment at Spectrum store, or you will be waiting forever.

7. Sometimes you will get a dumb in-store person that gives you wrong info. If they don't budge, try another store.

8. You have to keep service for 60 days in order to get phone unlocked. You do so by contacting CS to have them process it; it does not happen automatically.

9. You can process multiple upgrades on a line, but be aware that you may have difficulties unlocking a phone that was not active for a full 60 days (YMMV).

READ THE THREAD before asking questions.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

So it looks like $1299 for Samsung S26 Ultra - $432 for my S25 Ultra Trade-In + $700 Spectrum Promotion Credit = $167 + tax = No Brainer?

I have their 1GB Internet for $40 + 140 for 4 phones, two unlimited plus and 2 unlimited. I don't really plan on leaving anytime soon I guess. Any thoughts on better deal/value anywhere else?

No, if you have no issues with their service, definitely stick with them. Their unlimited data (mobile) wasn't enough for me so I had to leave, ended up having promotional credit left on a tablet after about 2 years that I had to pay for on the way out. Was pretty much like a contract. Still have them for home internet, actually waiting for a technician to come out right now and thanks to you just realized they raised the price $15 on me

Wait - so does this mean we need 3 years of service? Or can we do the pay it all off instantly and no future service needed?

You can pay in full rather than doing 36 months of credits. Phone unlocks 60 days after activation.
