No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

If fully paid off, then no.

what happen if we cancel mobile service or port-out number after 2-3 months if paid in full?
Nothing. You ask Spectrum to unlock your phone first before porting out. Then you can use your phone on any carrier since you paid for the entire cost of the phone up front

So this basically give you the chance to unlocked your phone in advance, but you can't unlocked then immediately port out your line to another carrier. https://www.reddit.com/r/Spectrum...8E6TMLtaZP This guys tried to do this , and he fu*k up.
The case is in payment plan with remaining balance. I want to know the paid in full case

Nah, because the internet user comes with the free line promotion, so they can use one line for free. Hence, there is no monthly bill, which means the monthly credit has no real meaning. So this is another way of paying in full. It is not really "paid in full" in the usual sense, because your plan is still tied to your line; they just refund you the credit to you account in advance . Also, a lot of people do not use the terms correctly. Based on the information he provided, I am sure he did exactly the same thing.
He owed money, he had to pay back in full after porting out. Sounds fair.

To me, the worst part is that most Spectrum Internet plans only have the promotional price for the first year. In the second year, the price goes back to the regular rate. At that point, you cannot cancel the internet service because it is linked to a mobile phone line that is tied to a payment plan ( you didn't pay in full , they just issue the credit in advance . It is more like a financing plan , not installment plan ) . The only thing you can do is keep the Spectrum Internet service at full price. It is a pretty smart trick. I am not sure whether they actually do this, but I think they might, because the contract lasts for 36 months.
Its a hassle but you just need to call their retention department to get the promo price every year. Takes 10 to 15min.

Went into a store today in California. I already had a line with Spectrum that was eligible for an upgrade. I traded in an iPhone 12 Pro and walked out with an Ultra. Paid everything upfront. Total out of pocket was $119 for the Ultra + $117 for sales tax and fees = $236. Now just have to wait the 60 days for unlock. Slick deal. Thanks OP.
In store, were you billed the full $900 + tax? I know it gets refunded/credited, but did they actually discount your overall payment then and there? Wondering how much will be put on the credit card.

No, he is also an internet customer. Spectrum Internet comes with a free line plan, which means that if you pay for the internet, you can get one phone line for free.

Then you can use this free line to apply the trade-in promotion. Because your line is free, monthly bill credits do not really mean much, since your phone line already has no monthly charge. So they refund the value all at once.

But this is still not the same as paying in full. Your line is still tied to the plan. For example, if you try to trade in again, you may get rejected. If it were truly paid in full, you could keep doing trade-ins again and again. In theory, you could buy many of them as long as you paid the full amount. But here, you cannot do that, because your line is still attached to the plan.
It doesn't change the fact that he still owes money.
