No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

It's not a good deal tho, people do not want to stay on spectrum mobile and unless you stay on their service for THREE YEARS. you lose all your promotional credit. why are you not being honest about the promo?
I'll say it, again . You're a rock!!! What is your IQ? 3? Lol

Ordered a Galaxy A01 for ~$45 on Amazon using credit, which was on the cheapest phone I could quickly find on the eligible trade-in list. It appears as though in California there ain't no way around paying tax on the full amount. Even if I go in-store, which I plan to, because I want the phone trade-in completed right there and then. Combining this with my BofA credit card deal for $200 off $1000 in 90 days will make this extra slick. I'll be selling the base s25 I bought from Mint.

what's limit for number of lines? If I "upgraded" recently for S26, can I add a new line (or two) and get +700 for trade in?

Wait - so does this mean we need 3 years of service? Or can we do the pay it all off instantly and no future service needed?

The prepaid phone you're trading in does not need to be unlocked.
That's not what they told me

If we pay in full then $700 credit applies to account in full or over 36 months ? I'm confused with people saying both .
You can leave it on the account or call them to credit it back to your original form of payment

Carrier lock is fine. Lock screen unlocked is what they need. Common mistake.

So don't order online and go to the spectrum store and purchase? Or can I purchase online and call the customer service for the $700 credit?

Wait, so going in person they gave you the credit for the trade in on the spot? You didn't have to wait for approval once they send to their warehouse or whatever?
That is correct. They tested my trade using their computer and once my phone passed they issued the credit on the spot. He then asked if I wanted to finance the remaining balance or pay it all off. I chose to pay it off.

The concept is the same with this promo. Btw Spectrum internet is super cheap if you know how to work the system a little bit (zip code can also play a part.) I literally have free Spectrum internet and mobile.
How? Free internet?

I have one question: 😇

If I pay off the device upfront and receive the trade-in credit back to my credit card, what would happen if I cancel/port-out the mobile service after 2–3 months?
Make sure to unlock before you port out. After that, you can do whatever you want with the phone and porting out cancels the mobile service.
