No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Customer rep informed me that the trade-in credit ($700) will go to my Spectrum account (internet and mobile, which will be free for 12 months), rather than to the credit card I pay for the device. I can go to the nearby Spectrum store to drop off the trade-in phone for credit.

How? Free internet?
Poverty deal. I forget what they call it. I should say called it a couple years ago there was free internet depending on your ZIP code
Trump did away with it since it was subsidized to help poor people. But spectrum still offers some sort of discount if you are on subsidies. I heard of people trying to get free internet through some children's program as well.

Okay so walk into store. Trade in phone. Ask for trade in to be credited instantly. Pay $200ish+tax. Walk out with new 26 ultra. Go home and cancel the new line. Is that what I do? Also can this be used on a second Sim with a second network while I wait the 60 days out for the unlock?

Is that for shipping/delivery only? Can't seem to find the stock in store (from their website)

Do they have any issues with straight talk phones? Could just pick up a Moto G 2025 at Walmart

Had a couple backup random cheap phones that are unused, but they're not listed and Straight talk isnt either.

there is no way to do this deal if spectrum in not in your area, correct? I.e, purchase online and pay-off over phone without activating service?

Can I use just get spectrum internet without wifi? Seems they are forcing advanced wifi with their internet. Using my own equipment means providing my own modem and router. I have a wifi router but not the modem.

Anybody reading this I purchased the Moto G from Walmart. Did an in store trade in and it worked. I didn't activate the Moto G phone, just opened it and handed it to the rep. Total came out to around $300 after trade in.

so i'm gonna summarize this and if someone can confirm. Buy cheap phone online (like moto g X), buy s26 ultra at store for $900, trade in cheap phone with $700+$5 or whatever at store, call to get credit applied to card, pay $30/mon for 2 months with spectrum, unlock after 60 days? My questions are does it require it to be debit or credit card okay? do we need to keep 2 months of service or just activate for 1 month? Thanks!

I did the S25 deal back in Feb 2025 and got it free with an iPhone 11 trade in plus a year of free spectrum mobile service. Today I used the S25 on the S26 Ultra and only paid $36.99 plus $37 in taxes and they even gave me another year of free mobile service. Couldn't believe it all worked out.
Trade in the cheapest phone by Motorola. Same credit
