No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Even if you finance you're not stuck. You can pay the device off anytime and the remainder of the 700 will be "accelerated" and be credited to your account within 2 billing cycles. You can then request to have it put back on your CC on file. The $700 is legally yours as soon as the device is paid in full. Ive documented this multiple times in chats. Go ahead and ask and document it yourself. You CANNOT cancel or port out until the accelerated credit is in your account. This is where people are losing this bonus. Canceling prematurely or porting out.

What part of 36 monthly payments do you not understand? That is not "free" or "clear", quite the opposite in fact. ANY carrier will give you a free phone if you sign a 3-year contract, this isn't a "deal". This is completely expected and normal.
How hard is it to understand? This isn't a contract. You can pay the phone off whenever you want.

What are you smoking? There are no missing bands here.
The problem is that this is a 36-month commitment. The phone itself is exactly the same as any other carrier.
The ones trying to down play this deal paid full price.LMAO

If anyone would like to chime in on whether or not they were able to trade in their Spectrum s26 for the s26 Ultra in store? Please let me know. Need to see if it's possible now because with the already existing $700 promo it has never worked in store for getting the s26 Ultra with a Spectrum s26.

I just did this today and worked fine with an s9plus trade in , I tried to get another line upgraded with a moto 5g I picked up at Best buy but their internal system wouldn't accept a 64gb version of the 2025 moto g, not sure what I did wrong with that one. Heading back to Best buy to get a Samsung a16

Plz stop trying to convince them. You cant save everyone, plus if people don't abuse this then its more likely that we'll still be able to do this in the future.

Tell them to use "other" instead of the main carriers or MVNOs. It will accept 64GB Moto. See for yourself online at Spectrum website.

just go to a different store.
OK went to second store, everything good except the staff couldn't get the trade in working, something with serial number. This is walmart moto g 5g 2025 linked.
Went to third store. Seems like they caught on and said NO PAY IN FULL for trade ins. Also the Walmart phone is now ineligible (WTF). they said its not the same model.
I guess I'll just do it online now and ask for credit back. Also my tax in CA is the full tax regardless. Im not going to a fourth store and go through this shiet.

Does it require port in, or can it be new line?

Feel sorry for your experience. Online, it still shows Moto 5G 2025 as accepted for trade-in and may be a less hassle for you.

I also had to pay tax on full price but still decided to complete the transaction in-store because it was easy / no-hassle and did not have to wait for a couple of months and call CS to transfer the $700 trade-in credit back to my credit card.

Good luck.

New line works and you do not have to port-in if you choose.

I did it in Dallas, TX with same Moto G purchased from Walmart for $30 this morning. Spectrum internet customer and added mobile for the first time. Go to another store, just tell them you will like to purchase S26 plus a phone with new line added. Once the rep enters the details inform them you have a trade in. Phone should be on home screen because phone camera is needed for the test. The store I visited had the $700 promo with trade in advertised with the displayed phones prices. Paid $194.9+ $49 tax out the door.
May I ask which specific store in Dallas?

Quick question: After paying in full and receiving the trade-in discount of $700, how long do I need to keep the line active? Could I cancel that after the credit has been applied to my account?

Yeah i did end up paying $312 and walked out with the phone 256gb.
That's great. Any chance you or anyone asked about the 512gb? If they have to order it, does that affect this deal?
