No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

If you try to get this shipped to you in store you have to return the device the box that it came with. they wont take the trade in store. Also the rep told me I can do this deal once in store and after that once online for each line. I wanted to open up 6 new lines but it seems like they limited me to 3 of these promos in store and the system wouldnt let them place a new order.

Quick question: After paying in full and receiving the trade-in discount of $700, how long do I need to keep the line active? Could I cancel that after the credit has been applied to my account?
You have no obligation to keep Spectrum's service once you have paid it in full and received the credit. You must keep their service on the phone for 60 days if you want to have it unlocked though.

you can only keep an already active mobile line if you disconnect their internet service, new lines probably must need internet service

Question regarding restoring/transferring data In Store from one galaxy to newer device. Since one is trading in the old phone, how do you use "Samsung Switch" in the store to transfer. Will they allow you to hold the traded in and newer device and transfer yourself? I know I can make a backup on my PC using switch and restore later on from PC.

Not 3 years. No contract if you pay the balance in full.

They will do the transfer via smart switch for you. Just make sure they do it via usb cable vs wifi so it's quicker. You'll just wait at the desk with them and when it is done they will have you factory reset the trade-in. That is how it has gone with every trade-in I have done.

I traded in my S25 Ultra and ended up with a $160 credit on my account. I like getting paid to upgrade my phone!

Thanks for the update. The reason I'm asking is that we'd be moving away from the current apartment and will have to close Spectrum account. So I was wondering if after paying off full amount and receiving trade-in bonus, I can close the internet but keep the phone line until the phone is unlocked.

I was on chat for a long time. I placed an order and it didn't show the $700 . I was told it was because that line had already received the $700 credit . I got the s26 a month ago. Looks like you can't upgrade to s26 ultra. If it's a new line it should work.
I upgraded my existing S26 line which was paid off in full to S26 plus. I received "We're ready to receive your device for Trade-In" email today and it shows Trade-in credit: $5 (Moto g 5G) and Trade-in Promotion: $700.

Yes you can close the internet and keep the phone line until the phone is unlocked. You can also consider moving the internet to new apartment if you would like to continue the internet.
