No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

it seems the deal is dead. my local spectrum employee showed me the printed $700 trade-in term and conditions. $700 can only be credited in 36 months othe than applied with pay-in-full purchase.
I just did it at my Spectrum store and it worked.

Has anyone done this deal porting in? I assume it's easier doing it online. Is the due today of $~1000 correct and they'll reimburse me after they recieve the trade in?

The sales staff at the store I got my S26 ultra told me you can have the phone unlocked after 30 days and I just confirmed it now while chatting with a customer service rep on the Spectrum site. This only applies if you pay for the phone in full.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does the phone itself have to be originally from Spectrum? We recently moved to Spectrum (both mobile and internet) and my S24+ says it isn't eligible for trade in. If I buy an unlocked A03 would it qualify?

How are your store's rep?

Went to a local store for 3 times now with different reps but they always have some excuse/bs reason to not let me pay in full OR have post-credit tax calculation OR trade in device in-store so I don't need to send it to UPS.

Online is fine but it's nerve wracking that there is a possibility that they will refuse trade in with some bs reasoning unlike the instant credit in-store.

It does not have to be a Spectrum phone, nor does it need to be unlocked. I traded in a prepaid Samsung A03S today.

Not sure why they would 'confirm' that, as it's never been 30 days and the system won't allow the unlock. It's 60 days active on the Spectrum network.

This deal is insane! I could trade my old Pixel 6A + $200 for Samsung's best, crazy. I'm considering it but there's nothing wrong with my Fold6 & Pixel 10 Pro πŸ€”

Just returned from a Spectrum store. I believe the store would have let me had the deal but for some odd reason the system would not authenticate me with my drivers license and SS#. The rep tried multiple times and even had me call spectrum 611 to make sure I did not have any fraud on my account. The only thing we can think of is that I just signed up for my free year of service on Sunday and got the sim on Wednesday. So this is a brand new account and maybe that's why? Or the system was just down since I was the first one in that day? I ended up just ordering online, so hopefully I will get refunded in a few months. The crazy thing is the rep on the phone could authenticate me and give me the deal over the phone if I wanted.

With all that being said, the reps were talking among themselves about the deal and how many are coming in with multiple old phones and paying in full. They had a feeling these individuals were flipping them. The one said the last time the promo came out they never felt good about it. However, this time, when someone tries with multiple phones the rep tells them they can only ship the phone to you to persuade them not to do business there with them. Theres also an internal chat among the stores about this deal. So it does seem like more and more stores may not be willing to do it.

Nothing wrong with my Fold 6 and Fold 7. I just buy first and think later 😁
