No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Maybe S26+ to S26U by saying you changed your mind and want to upgrade to s26U or trade in because you want the pen/privacy mode. Then again saying that might just flag it to them because they will think one per line promo. I can't imagine anyone allowing S26U for S26U unless they really don't gaf even if it works. I do plan on trading in for another S26+ for sure but I'm worried about the promo date saying it's ending 04/21/2026 and Spectrum being Spectrum, nobody has got a clue when it's actually ending because of how inconsistent and the lack of transparency. The staff were telling me last year and this year that they typically inform them like the evening before so it's really last minute. Must be why there are a decent chunk of stores that don't even know the promo changed.
thats i am hesitant to do in store...online it shows all the promo price etc., but cant trust spectrum to honor the terms, they have no idea how their system works!

Just got an S26 Ultra but didn't activate in-store. Can I transfer my current eSIM from my old phone to the S26U myself at home without visiting a store?
I believe so through the My Spectrum app as long as that current eSIM is Spectrum. If not, you have to wait 2 months for the unlock but it has to have been on a Spectrum eSIM to start the countdown from what I've read from people using one line to unlock all their phones. I'm not super sure of the details though or procedure but people posted details in the previous year's S25 trade in.

Yeah, I feel you. Last year I mailed the S25 for the S25U trade in and I was so paranoid from other people's horror stories with Assurant. I did a video before heading to UPS of the phone working and everything, then I recorded again it working while at the UPS and asked their workers if I could record them boxing it up.🤣

One thing I've learned when dealing with customer service reps (even Spectrum ones) is that they aren't always correct. Not on chat and not on the phone. I've gotten misinformation from them so many times, it's unreal. Unless the reps have the power to manually override, the letter of the written policy should supersede anything they tell you. https://www.spectrum.net/support/...ile-device
I'm just relaying what they told me, we can revisit this after 30 days or 60 days if you want.

Guys I just bought this phone from Best Buy for 50 bucks and did the trade-in online and it was accepted. Verizon Prepaid - Verizon Samsung Galaxy A16 128GB 5G Prepaid. They gave me $18. I almost traded in my S22 Ultra for $117 but decided it wasn't worth it so got the cheapest qualifying phone I could find instead.

I was searching for a crappy phone on Facebook for a while in crummy neighborhoods but somehow ended up on best buy plus I had some gift credit so got it for 11 bucks.

Wow, what a deal. I traded in the Iphone 13 from Metro that I paid $55 for. Iphone 13 was priced at $103.00 cause it was spotless. End total was $189.24+$55=$244.24 out the door with the free Spectrum Mobile line offer that they seem to be offering to me every year. Subtotal was $90.99, E-Waste Recycling Fee was $4.00 and State & Local sales tax was $94.25 if anybody is curious about the breakdown. I heard they offer free Spectrum Mobile line every year when you transfer your number out from my uncle but YMMV. It was available for me as well after I transferred the number out last month. I went to the Simi Valley, CA location and they were legit and gave me no issues the same like last year when I went. That testing app they have to do though is so dumb and frustrating, they were showing me what dumb tests they had to do. Just make sure to be clear what you want and make sure to tell them you want to pay in full. The guy was telling me each test that fails seems to makes it lose like 10-20% of the value that is stated when you initially try to trade-in online. He told me a phone he was testing that traded in for $245 kept failing a test, and the price was dropped to about $200. I'm gonna see about getting an extra S26+ for spare/trade-in in the future next week. Good luck to the rest of you and hopefully it isn't ending on the 21st like listed online on the promo.
*Edit: Nvmd, holy crap Simi (Ventura County) has like 1/3 less tax than LA County.

Holdup was the $94.25 tax for a Plus or Ultra? I got charged $115.50 tax for a Plus.

Trying to see if some CA Spectrum stores are charging tax on post-discounted prices, in which case I got robbed 😡

Ultra, the sales tax I guess matters too where you buy from. Simi Valley I know it is 7.25% which is the cheapest rate in Socal afaik, idk about Norcal. Or maybe they do some funky numbers depending on how much the value of your trade-in is. It's late and I'm too cooked to think about it properly.

How are you able to get the phone without activating it on a new line?

Are you sure on this point ? Earlier they never had this line in terms and conditions. I have done this before for S24.

Now, I don't want to be stuck with them for next 3 years to recover this.

Did anyone get the credit back for the full promotional value ?

Depends on how you ordered and if it was in-store. If it was online, you "should" receive the $700+whatever the trade-in was worth but that's only after Assurant clears it.
