No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

6 from one account, 4 from another, 3 from last one (3 ultras and rest are Pluses). Since I'd to convince my friends, I had to get three for them and all 10 are for me.
Congrats! I only got 3 lines opened then their system started to ban me. I just found out this morning via chat that my 2 online orders also got cancelled by their system. They didn't even have the decency to email me the cancellation notification

Did the error "Item with the pass-in identifier does not exist" auto fix for people after 24 hours?
Mine got fixed after 24 hours with no ticket.

For online orders, does Spectrum allow to drop off the trade-in device at a local store?

It was such a great deal, I didn't even take the break lol. Plus hats off to my Sales rep guy, he was super helpful and saved phones for me lol.
Dang nicely done. How many lines did you have to get for all of those? And did your friends go in with you to the store, or they gave you access to the account (but they need to present ID)? What's your unlock plan and what you gonna do with all them phones lol?

Good on you for sticking it out and calling out that coworker. What did you tell them that got them to come to the counter and process the trades? Most of these reps try to save the phones for themselves once they see people trying to get the deals. The ultra is the more popular phone, but yes, it's huge. Anyway you have a plus already so what will you do with 2 phones.
Called out them, there was no issue until you got involved. Why don't you process it as usual and let's see if it goes thru. The first guy was a bit embarrassed and that might have made them go thru it. But I am sure got lucky, while having ups and downs through out the process. 26+ is for spouse.

Do you want to change the plan, or cancel the plan? You're not clear about it, that's two different things. Yes, you can change the plan to the by-the-gig plan ($20/mo) and still be eligible for the unlock. If you cancel the plan, you won't have the phone unlocked at 60 days, but you can do it if you don't care about the unlock.
Do you know how to cancel to not get charged for 3rd month?

Every state handles the taxes differently so that's a huge difference with $4,800 worth if devices.

Just a message for people that are not getting updates on their online order: call CS rep and ask them to check with Fraud Prevention Dep. ... sometimes their system craps out and does not send an email with a link to verify identity (this happened to me). I made a call to a few CSs and they DO NOT see these issues on their end, so you have to ask explicitly and they put you on hold and check with them or transfer you over to Fraud Prevention. Make them double check the emails they have on file are correct and spell it out to check. If confirmation email does not come in a day after submitting identity confirmation items, call them back on the number provided in fraud prevention email.

Well, this has officially been the best S26 Ultra deal to date, that doesn't include a 24 or 36 month contract. See you all again in a year, for the S27's
