No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

It was such a great deal, I didn't even take a break lol. Plus hats off to my Sales rep guy, he was super helpful and saved phones for me lol.
Any idea the phone needs to be activated in order to be unlocked even if I paid in store and left with sealed box. Got 2 but activated just one and want to check if I use same line on other phone as well instead of activating it to avoid second month on other line since they activated on 40 plan which is active till first bill cycle.. is this possible..just checking

So, I just came back from a local Spectrum store, was able to get the S26U without any issues. I traded in a brand new Straight Talk Moto 5G 2025 purchased at Walmart locally for $29.99, the only catch was the so-called "mirror" test. The phone went though all the tests OK until we got to the mirror. It kept failing over and over again, I think the rep must have done it 25 times under different positions, lighting, angles, etc. Somehow finally it got through, no idea why it was so hard to get it done. The phone was literally brand new with zero usage, the rep knew and believed that, but didn't know any way to bypass the test (as some others here said they were able to do).Final cost was like thisBig Grinevice Payment Plan - Paid in Full $1,299.99$701.00 trade-in credit/promo value for Motorola G 5G 2025 -$701$400 off -$400Unlimited $40.00/line/mo Next Bill Cycle Service Discount -$40.00/Mo Next Bill CycleOne time activation charge $20.00Activation Charge Waiver -$20.00New Order Subtotal* $198.99California E-Waste Recycling Fee $4.00State And Local Sales Tax $113.75Applicable Tax Subtotal $117.75New Order Subtotal $198.99Applicable Tax Subtotal $117.75 (thanks to CA and the outrageous taxes here)Grand Total $316.74Cost of Moto G 2025 $32.65 (tax included)Final Cost of the entire deal: $349.39Still a great deal, maybe slightly less so than some people that are luckier to reside in a lower tax state.By the way, if anyone here in So Cal needs to know which Spectrum store has the S26U in stock and who to talk to to make sure this deal goes through without any headaches or attitude by Spectrum staff, PM me and I'll send you to the right place. There's still a few days left to get in on this, and the store I went to has plenty in stock right now (I think she said something like 25 of them in two different colors).
Is this on free plan
How are you able to get setvice discount and activation charge waiver?

Nice, didn't know about the AU technique. So you had your own account and were AU on other accts... but when they pull up your info with your phone number, which account do they see? Also, you still need access to their primary number on file to get the OTP, right (for phone activation)?
I had to put their own numbers (not mine) to find their account. But I did use my own SSN and everything for all of the orders. And yes my friends with the free line already active did get otp to their numbers and they sent it to me.

What I heard is you must activate your the phone in the line you activated. But later you can just transfer the phone line to different phone and again transfer back on 60th day and ask for the unlock. But you must pay them on the line you bought the phone for 2 months.

So you're going to have to get those phones placed back on your friends' lines in order to unlock them

Yes. I'm just paying them whatever it costs for 60 days. Most likely $60.

Anyone know how long the time is between shipping the trade in phone and getting it accepted at Assurant? I'm in Dallas and the Assurant facility is also here so dropped the phones off to UPS on Wed and were delivered Thu but no update in status so far. Still says waiting for phones to be returned.

I used UPS since it had the no box or label option. I recorded myself at the UPS store showing phone condition, confirming IMEI matches the trade in page, factory reset and handing the phone to the employee. I hope that helps if anything goes wrong with the trade in evaluation.

I am experiencing a similar issue. UPS delivered the phone but the spectrum trade in website still says awaiting shipment.

At what date everyone is canceling the plan, so not being charged for 3rd month? Also, what are you doing of the number?
