No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Is there anyway to transfer e-sim in spectrum without contacting support?
I honestly think it's completely broken but chat support won't admit it.

Edit: Assurant approved my credit, took about a week after phone is delivered.

Could someone boot into recovery (vol up + power) and share if their device shows release-keys or test-keys? Some users with Verizon + Spectrum devices reported that they shipped some out with the debug/engineering build signed with generic test-keys, which randomly can have memory leaks that result in boot looping until app data is wiped. Lmao Samsung...
My S26U shows "user/test-keys" in Recovery mode. It doesn't give the normal options...for example: wipe cache. WTH. My recovery screen only shows 3 options: Reboot System Now, Wipe data / Factory reset, and Power off. So, do I need to select the "Wipe data / Factory reset" option?

***BEWARE*** check your trade in credit once moved over to spectrum from Assurance. They magically added the phone protection to my plan and i never added that, and they could not reverse that charge so they just gave me a $10 credit... I turned in a S24, got the $843 credit and that was it, no tax credit, which should have been +$59.01. Yes i have been doing these deals at spectrum for years and always got a tax credit with the trade in return... I mean I already paid $91 in tax as they used the $1299.99 price as tax even though the phone said 899.99 on my paperwork ($400 off)...
After speaking with representative, they apparently had no idea about this... after speaking to a lead he said taxes are not refundable. Requested a supervisor and after repeating the tax refund issue 3x, they still could not understand the tax refund amount missing. So they transferred me to another supervisor... while they could not confirm why this tax refund didn't happen, she was able to credit the account the missing amount....
Maybe their process changed from previous years on getting taxes back but I was super annoyed anyway, especially since i paid taxes on 1299.99 to start with when phone was 899.99 lol...
good luck to everyone else.... i have 2 other phones pending return to see what happens with taxes too...
I had read most of the comments on this thread and didn't realize anyone got a tax credit for their trade in at the store. They either be charged tax on the the full price ($1299) or taxed on the amount ($200) after the $700 trade in plus the $400 off. In California, we are taxed on the full price of the phone ($1299).

It seems Samsung got rid of the wipe cache option in a recent update. https://sammyguru.com/samsung-qui...xy-phones/

Do not select the "Wipe data / Factory reset" option unless you want to wipe all your phone data and start from factory defaults. It is not the same as wiping a cache.

Rep told me today that "Trade-in promotional credits are applied as account credit. These credits cannot be manually refunded or transferred to the original payment method. Only regular credits (non-promotional) may be refunded to the card on file if applicable. The trade in promotional credits, cannot be transferred to your payment method. There is not an option in the system to do that."
Is that true ? Anybody got the credits to their Credit Card/original payment method ?

Trade in was delivered 4/23 and got approval email today. Credit also got applied today.

No luck getting tax difference back however so ends up being about $60 more expensive per phone compared to doing it in store (which I couldn't do because the system kept flagging the transaction as fraud).

Yep. I did everything online and mailed in my S24+. I just got a refund today to the Visa I paid in full with. I will say that they subtracted $45 from my refund to cover this month's bill (I guess?). As long as they don't also auto bill me the $45 for this month I guess I'm ok with that.

point of reference..... my 2nd and 3rd purchases (each on different accounts/addresses) took 11 days before credit showed up at spectrum... TAX difference was not done again automatically so this might be the new norm which sucks for those that cannot do in store trade ins...

Yeah tried chatting and calling to see if they'd prove tax difference but was told not possible.

Well, everyone else seems to have the promotional amount refunded to their cc. Try again.

Alright, just saw my refund posted back on CC. Finally can ease my mind, they had to create a ticket because the amount is higher than usual. Thought there would be complication but it went okay.

Well, if you have been paying attention to this thread, you will know that this year Spectrum is stopping any S26 from being used as trade in, and for those that willing to risk it, is either going to be a hit or miss. Your options: 1. request the S26 to be returned and return the S26ultra and bite the extra fee. 2. depending how much you value your time, see if anyone can post a screenshot or try dig up some old post from the other S26 thread which I've seen other have posted with the S26 as trade in and fight your case.

I got the "We've Received Your Device" email from Spectrum yesterday, May 4th. That email said "Good news! We've received your device and inspected it. You'll be receiving a Trade-In Credit of $61.00 for your device. In addition to your Trade-In amount, you also qualify for the Trade-In Promotion, which brings your total to $761.00."

I logged in to My Spectrum account yesterday and had no credit yet. This morning, I logged in again and the full amount for the trade-in + promotional has applied to my mobile account. I called Spectrum and in about 5 minutes the agent processed my request for refund to my cc. Smooth process.
