I use my pro as a mini laptop, I pull it out when I need to write emails or do more typing than I want to do on my phone. The rest of the time, I used this for streaming video and this keyboard is excellent for that, much more stable in more situations than any kickstand case/keyboard and the first party hardwired connection is simply better than any bluetooth keyboard. You can get cheaper keyboard cases but they will have significant compromises in bulk, latency, and stability on anything but a large flat surface (your lap, laying down on the couch, confined spaces). I also used the folio keyboard on a 11in pro for several years and really liked it. I don't use the trackpad on the magic keyboard much but the key travel is nicer than the folio and I like how the magic keyboard raises up the display a bit.
I also used an m1 macbook air for a while but it doesn't quite fill my niche as well. the 12.9 ipad pro has a smaller footprint on tight spaces, feels more durable (laptop displays are scary thin and can't take compression as well as tablets) and I use this ipad to watch stuff while I cook and do dishes, If I spill or splatter something, I am at most risking this keyboard and not the whole device. I also don't really like MacOS but that is a me thing, long time windows guy.
I'll still consider replacing my brydge case since it has Bluetooth lag and no pass through charging. but just keep in mind the 6th gen and lower iPads are very top heavy and the apple style keyboards are meant for desktop use, not your lap.

my only real gripe with it is there isnt a way to secure an apple pencil when its magnetized to the side. it can be a little annoying having it come off in the laptop sleeve of my backpack, but its far from a dealbreaker for my continued daily use of it.
