The cheapest SODIMM DDR5 32GB kit I found is $361

The cheapest 1TB M2 SSD I found is $139

So it's $500 just in RAM and SSD.
A year ago the SSD was $80 and the RAM was $80 and these things were still $500.

Seriously, DRAM and NAND has run up so much, it'll take the unitiniated by surprise. This PC was indeed about the best we can find for a 780m equipped CPU.
The cheapest 32GB 5600 SODIMM kit you can get on the secondary market currently runs $225 on ebay, and decent quality used 1TB SSDs continue to be available in the $100-$110 range.
$579-$345 = $234 for an 8745HS equipped mini with Win11 Pro, which is indeed very good at this time. Zen 4 + RDNA 3 is still a solid combo, with only marginal gains to be made going up to much more expensive equivakent Zen 5 / RDNA 4 minis.
