I made my own with heavy linen and although not waterproof I don't like what these offered are made of.
I wouldn't use these. I did check it out in case they would have been good materal then I might have ordered it.
Others might not care..

"Noiseless"
Are pillows making noise a common problem that needed to be addressed?

The waterproof membrane, mostly in older cases that used vinyl, can make noise when you move them. I don't think it's really an issue with the PU membrane most brands use now.

It's "good" in that they're effective, quieter, and more durable than the old cases that used vinyl for the waterproof membrane. I guess it could be "good" that they use less polyester and include viscose from bamboo, but producing viscose can be highly polluting.

It's "bad" if you're opposed to plastic. Personally, I try to avoid polyester when there are reasonable alternatives, but I have these on all of our pillows and think they're great. Our nicest pillows are latex, and others are solid and heavy viscoelastic polyurethane foam, neither of which can be machine washed or submerged. I could spot treat, but that doesn't really fix the issue of human dander accumulation. So in the case of pillows - and mattresses, since ours have a latex layer on top - I use quality covers to increase longevity and keep them cleaner.

That said, I mostly use Utopia brand, which is $13 for 4 with almost 47k+ reviews and 4.6 stars: https://www.amazon.com/Utopia-Bed...B09TRDT1KF

They're not "noiseless" compared to an uncovered pillow, but it's not that big a deal. The biggest disadvantage of these covers is that they trap air when fully zippered and so they take a little while to "deflate" once you put your head on it. I keep mine half-zipped to avoid it.

Right? That could have gone either way. Just reading off random materials as if anyone asked. I still want to know when pillowcases became protectors and why mine don't make any noise ๐Ÿค”

I've had neighbors call the cops, because I moved my head too loudly during the night.

Are they "air tight"? In other words, when you lie your head down, does air slowly leak out of the pillow?
