Anker's Nano 45W USB C charger stands out for its built in display, which shows real time charging wattage and can help confirm whether a cable or device is actually pulling the expected power. The charger itself is described as working well, and the screen automatically turns off after a minute of inactivity. The main drawback is placement, since the display can be hard to see depending on outlet orientation or if the charger sits low behind furniture. The screen also feels unnecessary to some, especially when similar charging data is already available elsewhere.

As part of Anker's Earth Day sale running through April 22, the Nano 45W GaN charger with built-in smart display is down to $27.99 at Amazon — 30% off and the lowest price we've tracked on this model.
Product highlights:
Smart Display shows real-time wattage output per device — no more guessing if your laptop is getting full power
45W single-port USB-C GaN: fast charges iPhone 17 Pro from 0–50% in ~30 minutes
180° foldable prongs — lay flat in a bag without damaging the plug
Half the size of Apple's 30W charger; works with MacBook Air, iPad, all USB-C phones
Bio-based nylon exterior (plant-derived materials) — part of Anker's eco-friendly lineup
Deal details:
Price: $27.99 (reg. $39.99) — saves $12 (30% off)
ASIN: B0CR3FSPNX — amazon.com/dp/B0CR3FSPNX
Ships: Free Prime
Sale ends: April 22, 2026
At $28 with a smart display and 45W GaN output, this undercuts Apple's 30W USB-C adapter ($39) by $11 while delivering more wattage and adding a real-time power readout.

This is true. Nearly everyday I joke that it looks like an FBI raid after the kids ransack my cord and charger collection

You can actually see how much power is being sent to the device.

Ripple describes the minor variations in voltage that are a result of the adapter's circuits not being able to perfectly convert the alternating current (AC) supplied by the mains into direct current (DC).

Visualized on a graph, instead of a perfectly flat line, there will be small bumps, or spikes in voltage. In other terms, it could be described as noise, or interference, instead of perfectly "clean," and in general is a trait that helps describe the "quality" of power.

It's sort of the converse of a UPS backup converting the DC supplied by its battery and converting it into AC for plug-in items. Cheap UPSes approximate AC with square waves, while better ones produce output that more closely resemble sine waves.

Electricity and how it's produced and handled often doesn't produce perfect results, so there is a level of expectation and tolerance for minor variations like ripple.

In theory, zero would be ideal. But in practice, less is better, some is tolerable and often good enough.

In general, Apple's wall adapters are simpler, and more expensive, but are durable and do their job well. Good designs and quality components.

There's a whole subculture devoted to testing, tearing down, and discussing these things.

I'd suggest you take at look at the "AllThingsOnePlace" channel on YT if you're interested in empirical tests and evaluations of how they perform, beyond the lay "it works" reviews on Amazon and such.

But keep in mind that ripple is one trait, not the only trait that should be considered.
