5000 iu is over the daily limit. Taking these for a long time can do more harm than good.

Unless you have blood work done, and doctor reviewed, stick to 1000-2000 iu for a daily dose.

Any citation on this? Many doctors are saying the more the better and that previous RDA is outdated info.

Lots of newer studies show many do not need Vitamin D supplements, let alone, high doses.

4000iu seems to be the max most should take. Even then that may be to much for some.

"To help prevent vitamin D toxicity, don't take more than 4,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D unless your healthcare professional tells you to. Most adults need only 600 IU of vitamin D a day."

Like most things to much of a good thing can be to much.

D is good for testosterone maintenance and creation. I don't follow Harvard Med anyway. Same school that in one year said Vitamin C is good, Vitamin C is bad. Liberal school that believes in pharmaceuticals and not holistic/natural treatment (numerous insider books on this(.
