Meta Quest headsets stand out for VR gaming, movie watching, and mixed reality content, with Quest 3 especially praised for its pancake lenses, sharp streaming from a PC, and strong experiences like 3D movies and virtual pinball. The current pricing is drawing attention because the lower holiday and clearance deals are gone, and restocks are already pushing prices up at many retailers. The main drawbacks are comfort and value, since the headset can feel heavy, the Quest 3S lenses are seen as a step down, and the new prices make upgrades harder to justify. A solid option if the features matter more than chasing the old sale price.
The Quest 3 can deliver an immersive experience for 3D movies and virtual pinball gameplay.
Streaming high-resolution movies from a PC over Wi-Fi can work well because the PC handles the GPU load.
The Quest 3 supports Virtual Pinball options, including Pinball FX with multiple tables and VPX with many free tables.
A $30 game or app credit may be available via a referral link before headset activation, even when buying from other retailers.
Retailer pricing can rise after existing stock sells through, so the lower price may not last across stores.
The Quest 3S lenses can feel like a poor experience compared with Quest 3 pancake lenses, making the 3S harder to justify at higher prices.
A software update can ignore the 'updates off' setting and change sideloaded app behavior after the update.
The headset can feel too heavy and can squeeze the head, which may affect comfort during use.

Additionally, you can get $30 game/app credit if you use a referral link before activating your headset - you can buy it from any retailer. Message me if you have any questions. I love my Quest 3 and have had VR headsets since the original Oculus Rift.
