Just a note the 288v was 20$ more the other day, they raised the price for the coupon. Still a great price, I bought it at the 650. Just a shady practice.

the 288v also has a 100% srgb 400 nit screen.

Thanks. Ordered one. 1TB SSD + "Ultra 5" series lunar lake is a steal at this price.
Acer certified refurb laptops marketed as "pristine, like-new condition" are practically new, based on my past experience.

They usually use a different language like "very good" or "slight wear and tear" for laptops that are in worse refurb condition. Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/277798090257

This Acer Aspire 14 AI certified refurb stands out as a lightweight 14 inch laptop with a 1TB SSD, 16GB of RAM, and a fast Ultra 5 chip that feels basically new in use. The certified refurb grading is repeatedly described as pristine or like new, with battery health showing 100 percent in multiple reports. The screen is the main tradeoff, with the Ultra 5 panel described as around 65 percent sRGB and 300 nits, while the 2 year warranty helps offset concerns about display issues. Heavy preinstalled software is another annoyance, and a dented arrival shows condition can still vary.

  • Certified refurb units can arrive in like-new or pristine condition with strong battery health reported after checking with Acer.

    lizard5102tyiu48lizard5102gooddeals23

  • The 226V configuration can include a 100% sRGB 400 nits touchscreen that matches a 400 nits desktop monitor.

    gentlesilvergentlesilvergentlesilver

  • A 2-year warranty can cover screen concerns, which helps reduce risk for the most alarming review topics.

    jay_b12

  • The laptop can feel smooth for light gaming at 60Hz and can avoid reported screen blackout issues across multiple purchased units.

    enraginangel

  • A Wells Fargo credit card offer can add extra 2% cash back on eBay purchases up to a $10 maximum.

    wolvyne

  • Pre-installed Acer, Microsoft, and McAfee software can be heavy enough to require removal tools for privacy and cleanup.

    lizard5102Leonidas

  • The coupon price and terms can change, and the 288V model price can increase by about $20.

    gentlesilver

  • Some units can arrive with cosmetic damage, including a large dent at the bottom.

    ck128

  • WiFi and keyboard setup can take longer than expected, with delays reported around 30 seconds to 1 minute.

I purchased a CERTIFIED REFURBISHED from a previous deal three weeks ago. I can confirm what others have said. The Certified Refurbished is basically new, although 2024 specs. I'm extremely happy with the Acer Swift 14" with an Ultra 7 CPU, 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB SDD in like new, pristine condition for $376 before tax.

I purchased this for my college bound grandson and barring catastrophic failure outside the two year Allstate warranty, expect this to make it through his 4-5 years of school. If he wants to game though, he's on his own Smilie

Their "pristine, like-new" refurbs are basically brand new. I think they are not allowed to sell below a certain price for "new" laptops because of MSP agreements with retailers; so they end up branding them as refurb. I have ordered ebay acer "pristine, like-new" condition refurb twice, and both times they came new, with 100% battery cycles remaining. You can run "powercfg /batteryreport " on your Windows laptop to check battery health.
Once a manufacturer sells or transfers custody of a product to a 3rd party and then they receive it back, it must be labeled as "refurbished" - it's possible some of these laptops were sold to retailers who could sell them and got returned to Acer who now sells direct as refurbished

What exactly is the Copliot feature and can it be uninstalled? I absolutely hate this MS clippy garbage being shoved down our throats.

Is the ultra 7 worth the cost over the ultra 5?

the screen on the 9 ultra 9 is 100% srgb color and 400 nits, the the ultra 5 is about 65% and 300 nits. So the 9 has better color and brightness. As of now, for normal users, no the faster NPU wont do anything . Remember though the RAM isn't upgrade-able on almost any laptops anymore. So if you get 16, you are stuck with it.
Thanks, I was a little confused by Acer's site showing 32GB "Maximum Supported System Memory" on the Ultra 5 model. Either a typo or maybe there are 32GB Ultra 5 variants around. Also a bit strange Acer's specs page doesn't tout the superior screen on the Ultra 9. Attaching a screen shot FWIW.

Depends on what you do. I am purchasing this for my brother who primarily uses the laptop for business email and running some local accounting software. The Ultra 5 is more than sufficient for that.

I only found it, as its the same model as the "refurbished-good" one they have off and on

https://www.ebay.com/itm/267520523922

I received mine today and its definitely 400 nits, it matches my desktop monitor that is that brightness, and is a good bit brighter than my Dell latitude that is 300.

I bought the 226V laptop for the same price back in Jan. It is a decent laptop. Good speed. Not too noisy. Basically brand new and I don't have to pay recycling fees.

I only wish it comes in a bigger screen. I would rather have 15.6" 1080p than 14" 1200p. But that's really just me.

More than a bit...by $60. It may still be a good deal, but that's a deal breaker for me.

$30, not $60. I am buying one now because this is still a very good price.

No. On the day I check, from where I checked, it was closer to $60.

It's different, and changing, all the time.
