Can you suggest one for $200 or less? Refurb is ok.

winix, coway and blueair are all reputable brands with good air purifiers that actually do what they claim

Have had nothing but good experiences with winix refurbs

Our Shark UA205's do an excellent job. We have 2 for a 1,400 sq ft house. Some people are just stuck on a device needing "Certifications" that cost companies $$$ to obtain. 3rd Party Filters are readily available for this model on Amazon and work just as well as the official Shark filters at half the price. We have 5 litter boxes around our home and our household dust levels are the lowest they ever have been.

I purchased mine refurb'd on Woot for $69 over a year ago and I've only changed the filters once. Say what you want about Shark. There will always be haters out there.

Paid $68.19 post tax from woot July 2025.
Very good at detecting the wife frying her hair with a hair straightener. Have since bought replacement filters which is the bulk of the cost of air purifiers.

Works well and good alerting you to issues in the home. The goal is improvement and localization (master bedroom) versus whole home furnace filters...

Curious how you can say that aftermarket filters just as well as the originals... what are you using to measure indoor air quality?

Project Farm did a test of several brands and Coway and Winix were the top performers. I'd say anyone who's interested in performance before buying should check his video out.

My lungs and the surfaces of the items in my home. I have asthma and my son has severe allergies. Not much more is needed. Removing particulates and food smells in the air are the most important thing for me. The aftermarket filters do an excellent job at that. Perhaps better than the OEM Shark filters.

I was able to get used blueair 211+ and 411+ for 100 combined. they were 3-4 years old... with new filters came out to be around 200.
