The battery kills the vacuum. I just returned it. Less than 40mins battery time but 3.5 hours for charging?
You're not serious right? The drain rate for batteries is ALWAYS higher than the charge rate for high drain devices - certainly for vacs and EVs.

Not a good start - My v15 detect Absolute came with a v12 slim fluffy head. Dyson is shipping the correct one hopefully.

Decided to take another chance on Dyson refurb after having a horrible experience with the humidifier/purifier. Received this order today, and of course they sent me the wrong model. They sent the standard yellow/nickel model with a bunch of the crappier accessories instead of the iron/gold absolute model with the better filter/accessories.
Mine got delivered today and got the Detect instead of Detect Absolute. are the machines different between these models? Or, is it just the accessories are different?

The color is different. The HEPA filter is also different (the Absolute filter is better). The accessories are different, both in terms of color and function. The Absolute uses the "quick-clean" wand which has a trick integrated crevice tool. The underlying body and suction power is the same, but I specifically wanted and ordered the Absolute model for the features mentioned above. Dyson support has been mostly unresponsive, asking for photos, which I provided yesterday. They have not replied.

This is a good price, but if you don't need it right now I would wait for a V15 Detect to pop up on here. More powerful and can often be had for a similar price. Maybe a little more, but not meaningful increase. It's got more power, and is newer technology. If you don't want to wait, a cordless Dyson is a game changer.

Same. Received a refurb V15 Detect Total Clean Extra, instead of the V15 Detect Absolute that I ordered. Sure, it's nice to have extra attachments, but similar to what astonius mentioned, I ordered the Absolute for the better filter and crevice tool. Of course the Absolute is out of stock now, so I'm worried about how much of a headache it'll be to try and get and right parts sent via their support.

EDIT: Only took two hours, escalating to a supervisor, and staying polite and persistent over chat, but I was finally able to get Dyson to put in a replacement order for the wrong model.
I have to ship back the one I was sent (using free shipping label they emailed me). Once received, a brand new V15 Absolute will be sent out. Should be a 1-2 week turnaround for the new one to come in.
They did mention that they will manually adjust the warranty on the new unit to match 6 months given to refurb units, but at least it'll be brand spanking new, since all the refurb units are currently out of stock.

Best of luck to others who are in a similar boat!

They did the same thing to me. Did you go through eBay or Dyson support get it fixed? I messaged them on eBay and no response hours later.

I went through live chat directly on Dyson's website, nothing involved through eBay.

We are on our third Dyson vacuum. They are great, but due to battery replacement cost, these unfortunately became disposable items. My v11 just died and I can either buy a battery for $120, which is out of stock anyways, or add more and get refurb v15. I really wish Dyson adopted universal battery, or at least the port, across their lines and just stick with it, which should hopefully drive down the cost of replacements

Oh my god, Dyson is the worst:

"Upon checking, we can confirm that the refurbished Dyson V15 detect absolute cordless vacuum is currently out of stock. Since we did not want you to be left without a machine, we sent you a V15 series model instead the refurbished Dyson V15 detect total clean extra cordless vacuum. This version comes with additional accessories and intelligently optimizes suction and run time for enhanced performance. We assure you that you will not face any performance issues, as it is the same V15 series with added enhancements. We hope you have a great experience with your Dyson machine."

Guess I'll try my luck with the website chat support.
