To be fair, 11th gen mobile was an over-correction towards efficiency vs. 10th generation models whose performance was dependent upon how each manufacturer interpreted power limits. Although more than functional as a platform for a long-term productivity PC, I personally avoid 11th generation U-series mobile systems (G7, G4) vs. comparable systems with older 10th or newer 12th generation mobile CPUs.

Coming back to the laptop in this offer, the CPU and 32GB RAM combination should make this a solid productivity platform through the entire lifecycle of Windows 11, fulfilling the generic "is this good for a student?"
RAM is soldered, but generous for maintaining long-term compatibility with future Windows updates.
The screen is basic but includes touch support.
The display/laptop size is perfect for mobility/portability (though some users do find sub-14" screens small).
The model is new and premium enough that charging is supported via USB-C.

One key feature you may want to confirm with this seller is whether the keyboard included with your purchase is the backlit option (this model was available with or without a backlit keyboard).

Personally, as someone daily driving a 5450 and 5320 these days, the biggest gripe to be had is that the USB-C ports are located on a single side of the device. Comparing to a laptop with a traditional barrel charger this doesn't mean much, since the expectation is that power always comes in from a specific side. However, I have other laptops where USB-C availability allows me to charge from either side of the laptop... a niggling convenience feature that can really improve the quality of life with the device long term, not unlike a backlit keyboard.

Good luck!
Jon

Oh man, I just bought an 11th Gen a week ago. 12th gen is such a big jump in tech.

Are these Corporate Devices that met EOL and were 'Refurbished' for resale but are actually used? They are 2022 Models so, where have they been for the last three plus years?

"The Dell Latitude 5330 is a 13.3-inch business-focused notebook (and 2-in-1) released in 2022, featuring 12th Gen Intel Core U-series processors (or) for efficient performance. It boasts a 13.3-inch FHD () touchscreen or non-touch display, up to 32GB RAM, and 512GB SSD storage, starting at roughly 2.9 lbs, making it highly portable"

I use this model and the 14" at work. They have been good but make sure and check the thunderbolt ports as that is usually the first thing to break. Eveyone uses them with a dock...

Good specs for the price but I'm not sure about the finish on this type of Latitudes. I bought my oldest an off lease refurbished Latitude 5420 a while back and had to exchange it due to trackpad issues. Both of them had finishes that were pretty worn off and the one we kept has gotten much worse over time where the silver finish has worn off to reveal black. The quality of the materials on the Latitude 5 series seems much lower than for the 7 series we used to use at my work.

The 7000 series was intended as a more premium, metal laptop vs. the plastic-fantastic of the 5000 series. The only real exception I couldn't tolerate were the 7000 series models that introduced exposed carbon fiber lids, which were intended to add lightness (which they probably did) and look premium (which they didn't as they often aged terribly).

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I messaged the seller and got a response quickly. This particular one has a backlit keyboard.

Not reburbished, used. Mark it correctly Dr. W. You are not listing what has been refurbished, so it's used. Nobody want some old crusty laptop.

I'm not seeing anything about a backlit keyboard in the description. So I sent the seller a message asking if these are backlit or not. If they are I'm going to jump on it as I've been looking for a i7 with more than 16 gigs of RAM

This person LOVES posting these underpowered, worn-out garage sale "used" machines.... incorrectly labeling them as "refurbished" or "renewed" or whatever euphemistic term of the day is.

I call it ye ol' spit n' shine refurbishment -- and sometimes, you get more spit than shine! 🤣

What are these comments blastin' the OP for? It's clearly listed as "Good/Refurbished" on the listing. Have any here bought this laptop from this seller?
