D2 is a great budget steel (one of my favorite) that really holds an edge, and Kizer makes quality knives. The ones I own tick all the boxes for a knife nerd, smooth action. good grinds, nice build, grippy scales, centered blade, good heat treatment, etc. Just remember D2 is only semi-stainless so make sure you keep it cleaned, dried, and throw a little bit of oil on it once in a while.
