This refurbished iPhone 15 Pro Max deal stands out for a big 6.7 inch unlocked flagship at a steep couponed price, with free shipping, a one year Allstate warranty, and easy 30 day returns. The refurb listing is described as fully functional, professionally inspected and cleaned, with minimal wear and new generic packaging. Battery health on received units ranges widely, from near new to the high 80s, and some phones arrive with scuffs, dents, or even a screen line. Heat and battery complaints also show up, especially with wireless charging, so condition can feel like luck of the draw.
light users who track battery health and charge habits because multiple commenters reported good battery health on iPhones when they used disciplined charging (like keeping charge capped around 80% or using wired/low-power charging).
buyers who are okay with "luck of the draw" on battery health because community members said returns are easy and some units arrive near-new (even ~100% battery health) while others are lower, so it can work if you'll return a bad unit.
people who want a refurbished iPhone 15 Pro Max with a one-year Allstate warranty and 30-day returns because the listing notes it's fully functional, professionally refurbished/inspected/cleaned, and backed by a one-year warranty with easy returns.
buyers who are comfortable using wired charging (and possibly avoiding wireless) because one commenter said the 15 Pro's overheating improved on newer iOS and that wired charging produces less heat than wireless charging.
people who are sensitive to overheating and brightness/throttling because several commenters said their iPhone 15 Pro Max (or 15 Pro) got hot quickly and could dim the screen, suspend charging, or even block usage when it overheated.
buyers who need consistently strong battery performance right away because multiple commenters reported having to charge 2-3 times per day or seeing fast battery health drops on 15 Pro/15 Pro Max units after purchase.
buyers who rely on the TECHREFURB20 coupon specifically because at least one commenter said the coupon code didn't work for them on their end.
buyers who expect "Very Good" to arrive cosmetically flawless because some units were reported to arrive with scuffs/dents/deep scratches and micro-scratching even though battery health was around the mid/high 80s.

After about a year, the battery health was already down to 88% and 90%. We ended up selling them when the 16 Pro Max came out, and so far, the new ones have been much better. We haven't had any random overheating at all, and the battery health is still holding strong at 97% and 98%.

For comparison, I gave my launch-day 14 Pro Max to my mom and it's still at 81% after much longer use. Ended up selling the 15 Pro Max when the 16 pro max came out—night and day difference so far. No overheating, and battery health is sitting at 97% and 98%.
As an aside, these listings have shot up by about 15-20% across the board since February. You could find the 15 pros for anywhere from $390-$430 back then. Now they're consistently closer to the $500 range. The iPhone resale market is crazy right now imo. Best Buy is trying to sell refurb 13 pro's for anywhere from $450-$500.

Overheating isn't too much of an issue for me as it was when it was first released; seems like the software updates since then have improved it somewhat, but titanium is still titanium and does not remove heat very well. It has never even once been charged with a wireless or MagSafe charger. ALWAYS Wired, and never fast-charging either. Always with just a 12W, USB-A to C charger. So that rules out charging-related / heat issues as a source of battery degradation. It has always been kept at a battery charge range between 35 to 90%. It's now on iOS 18.7.7 (the final version of iOS 18), so it still runs very smooth and consistently on it and is stable. Prior to that, it was on 18.7.3 since December 2025, and before that, on its final version of iOS 17 for over a year (17.7.2). Glad I did not "upgrade" to 26, as I've read nightmare scenarios of that OS on older phones, even on the recent 16 and 15 series.
Overall, my 15 Pro Max still functions very well at least on 18.7.7, but the battery degradation (in terms of how much % capacity has decreased per battery cycle) IS definitely the worst I've seen out of any iPhone so far.
