Early battery degradation was the 14 pro. The 15 pro's battery is solid. I'm sitting on 88% with 955 cycles to give you an idea. While some minor overheating was present in some badly optimized iOS versions, the latest 26.4 and beyond has been great. No overheating even while pushing it. Most of the heat is simply due to the use of titanium. It doesn't adversely affect it too much. Use wired charging. Comparatively wireless charging will always produce more heat. A wireless charger with an active cooling fan helps with that.

Refurb seems to mean inspected for full functionality and at least 80% battery. Not really my definition of refurbished

Opposite with me. 15 Pro Max was garbage, over heating and major slow down. My daughter still has my 14 Pro Max and battery life at 87% bought at launch. 15 Pro Max i got rid of. My sister and coworker both still have one and both have issues with the latest ios version with both having battery phantom drain and major slowdown. 3 15 Pro Max phones all having similar issues to me isn't coincidence. YMMV of course. 14 Pro Max has been flawless when I used it and my daughter who still lives me same scenario.

This refurbished iPhone 15 Pro Max deal stands out for a big 6.7 inch unlocked flagship at a steep couponed price, with free shipping, a one year Allstate warranty, and easy 30 day returns. The refurb listing is described as fully functional, professionally inspected and cleaned, with minimal wear and new generic packaging. Battery health on received units ranges widely, from near new to the high 80s, and some phones arrive with scuffs, dents, or even a screen line. Heat and battery complaints also show up, especially with wireless charging, so condition can feel like luck of the draw.

Common Questions (5)

  • The 15 Pro Max can run warm, especially with wireless charging, high-power chargers, or heavy use, and some units have shown fast battery degradation or shutdowns in hot conditions. Wired charging and lower-watt chargers produce less heat, and software updates reportedly improved overheating compared with launch.

  • Units in this thread arrived anywhere from 86% to 100% battery health, with several examples around 87% to 88% and cycle counts in the 400-500+ range. The listing's refurb standard is at least 80% battery, so anything above that can still be considered within spec.

    BorkScintillationPennStateFangibsonbass

  • Returns are described as straightforward on certified eBay refurbished phones, with prompt refunds after documenting issues like dings, low battery health, or other defects. The listing also includes a 30-day return window and seller-paid return shipping.

    AzimovDougSaveAroundpowerfuldopplerallbluee

  • The TECHREFURB20 code applies to this listing and drops the price from $669.84 to $535.87, with free shipping. It is also reported to work on refurb iPhones generally, though one later attempt on a different listing did not apply.

    GlitchSySfourcepowerfuldopplerseahawks

  • The listing is for an unlocked iPhone 15 Pro Max, and these U.S. models do not have a physical SIM tray. That means service is handled with eSIM, which matters if you want to move a physical SIM card from another phone or prefer a SIM-slot model for travel.

Is the 15 series considered good? I've read a lot of complaints about overheating and early battery degredation.

I'm at 75% with my 14 pro. It does get hot quickly and either lowers the brightness or suspends charging.

I am sitting on 85% with 1082 cycles but I have to charge it 2-3 times per day since day one I bought it. I have the 15 Pro 512GB. Not a good battery at all, and the worst I have experienced since the 11 Pro Max, and I have upgraded an iPhone every year.

The smaller 15 Pro has crappy battery and heats up quickly, it's quite awful during summer months - the screen dims constantly in the heat as well. Sometimes the phone might even block you from usage if it gets too hot. May as well get a 17 at that point if you don't mind missing out on the telephoto lens.

Does anyone have a link to a refurbished iPhone 16 Pro Max that the discount will work on?
