Early battery degradation was the 14 pro. The 15 pro's battery is solid. I'm sitting on 88% with 955 cycles to give you an idea. While some minor overheating was present in some badly optimized iOS versions, the latest 26.4 and beyond has been great. No overheating even while pushing it. Most of the heat is simply due to the use of titanium. It doesn't adversely affect it too much. Use wired charging. Comparatively wireless charging will always produce more heat. A wireless charger with an active cooling fan helps with that.

Refurb seems to mean inspected for full functionality and at least 80% battery. Not really my definition of refurbished

Opposite with me. 15 Pro Max was garbage, over heating and major slow down. My daughter still has my 14 Pro Max and battery life at 87% bought at launch. 15 Pro Max i got rid of. My sister and coworker both still have one and both have issues with the latest ios version with both having battery phantom drain and major slowdown. 3 15 Pro Max phones all having similar issues to me isn't coincidence. YMMV of course. 14 Pro Max has been flawless when I used it and my daughter who still lives me same scenario.

Our 14 pro max batteries are both at 95%. I don't charge them above 80% except every once in a while to recalibrate.

That is very smart, and the right thing to do. Kudos to you for having the discipline to do it manually because the 14 Pro and earlier do not have that feature automated where you can set a software charge limit and occasionally it will charge above that limit to maintain battery health.

I have Chargie.org devices that do it for me. Lately though, one of them has started disconnecting. I have had them for at least 4 years. Maybe over 5.

Nice! Just looked into chargie as it wasn't on my radar. Neat device. I've used TP Link smart plugs with power monitoring capabilities for similar purpose where the power draw going down as batteries hit 80% is what can be programmed to shut the smart switch off. Sounds like you've generally had positive experiences with chargie. I may have to give them a shot just to learn more about them and what their moat is.

My 15PM has 194 battery cycles and 100% battery health. I'm just now maintaining as it's become a back up phone.

For some reason the prices on these eBay refurbished iPhones have been trending up instead of down since Christmas holiday.

Original price of $1300 for a two years old used iPhone. What a joke!

ok, I did read all the posts, ... I currently own a regular iphone 13, and works very good, my 13 has a sim card in it, it is unlocked and I took the sim card out of pixel 6a and put it in this iphone 13 and it works. These iphone 15's don't have a sim card in them, how is esim working for you. I was thinking of getting a iphone that has sim card in it, and in europe they make them, how important is having a sim card in your phone?
p.s. I just charged my iphone 13 and it went to 100 percent. I don't think I charged it that many times. For a few years, I just played with it , and didn't use it to make phone calls, until a few months ago. I paired with my mac mini m4, and my iwatch and ipad. So I might not be ready to get a new iphone, yet, I bought the MAC NEO a month ago, so I am in the apple eco-system, and still a beginner.

Has anyone had issues with returns on these if they aren't satisfied with the phone they get? I've never bought a refurbed phone.
Very easy returns, I've had crap quality ones that got refunded immediately

Is the 15 series considered good? I've read a lot of complaints about overheating and early battery degredation.
Phone gets hot if you use high power charger (which charges it much faster too). If you use the typical 10-20w charger, it's barely any heat. I use a 35 watt fast charger and it does get warm.
It also get warm after continuous use such as video or even active web browsing. But it's not too hot, but definitely warm
It doesn't seem to affect the battery life though. Mine is 2 yrs old not, 532 power cycle count and 92%. I do charge limit to 80% only.
