These addlon outdoor string lights are a budget 100 foot set that stands out for low price, remote control, and easy setup on patios, decks, and gazebos. The Edison style bulbs are described as bright and attractive, and the remote and dimming functions work well out of the box. The main tradeoff is sparse coverage, with 30 bulbs and about 3 foot spacing that can look too spread out compared with Costco Feit sets. Durability also looks less certain, with reports of delicate plastic, occasional dead bulbs, and water inside, so they suit lighter duty use.

The 48' Feit one is actually on sale for $57 for a 3-pack on Costco's website.

I like these but I don't like the distance between each bulb.

I purchased this last week from Amazon for $11.75. Already installed and they look great. The Edison style bulbs have a premium look and the remote works very well.

I just got mine last night and got to test them out. Are they the greatest most durable lights I've ever seen? Nope. Now did they work right out the box, did the remote work and do every function possible, did they dim and brighten? They sure as hell did and do!
You can either let the brand or bias snobs rule your purchasing decisions or you can take a chance yourself and see what results you actually get instead of focusing on others results. Its nice having reviews for sure, but honestly, who knows what the crack head slim did what to the product or jimmy rigged whatever concoction and got a bad result. Remember, there are some dumb dumb people out there.
The choice is yours to take a chance, might be the best or the worst purchase. I am very glad I got this set, and if they last 2 years in the Arizona heat, I will be very happy, and if they don't, well, I lost 17$.

Has anyone had issues with rain water getting in the bulbs and shorting out?
Not shorting, but yes, some water inside.

Other design though—this shape I don't have. I have the more traditional edison bulb shape.

Can this work in conjunction with smart outlets for dimming and turning on/off or do you still have to use the remote or manually turn the lights on regardless?

Why call someone a "bias snob" and what does that even mean? Commenters pointing out the spacing is 3', which is way more than other "brands," doesn't make them biased, or snobs.
