No Dolby vision 2 is looking like a huge misstep by LG this year. Too bad because I wanted to upgrade my C1 to the G6 this year

For anyone else wondering, the 77" and 83" C6 models are only coming in the "H" variant. They use the same panels as the G6. The smaller sizes are plain "C6".

Yep - I think unless you have an immediate need, its always best to wait until the next year models are imminent.

Case in point, 77" C5 was recently $1,440 on the partner site after discounts in the past couple weeks. I know the C6H is a comparably improved panel, but that is the nature of tech. Discounts will always follow the hot new thing for those with patience Wink

I didn't know this. The standard will exist in two forms: Dolby Vision 2 and a higher-tier "Dolby Vision 2 Max".

Thank you! That's great information, I had no idea. I'm looking to upgrade very soon to an 83-in OLED in my living room and this will most likely factor into my buying decision.

$2328 for the 83" C5 was the deal with +3% off coupon code. Sorry for those of you who missed it. I couldn't care less about the bleeding edge features.

Yeah I've had an 83" C5 for about half a year and it's a beautiful panel! I would not hesitate to get that model again for a good price. The updates on these are very incremental and difficult to perceive.
