iPad really priced itself outside of its market. Once this entered laptop territory most people checked out. This really should be less than $800 to make any sense. My 5 year old iPad Pro works well and there is not much the new one can do that that old one can't.

I get what you're saying and agree that the prices are ridiculous, but iPads and MBs are not in the same category. You either need an iPad or a MB, neither can replace the other.
