Apples and oranges. Ublock isn't doing anything for phone app ads while this can defeat quite a few

Isn't this free if you get it as an extension to the browser?

It seems to be good from what I've read. For a few bucks it's ok to toss the dice on imo

In my experience these DNS based blockers interfere with too many legit apps. There are already many free blockers like Ublock Origin.

People talking about ublock origin, problem is Chrome removed it, and Firefox breaks on a lot of sites now, so there's no way to use it for some sites. Seems like they somewhat found a way to defeat a lot of these ad blockers now

Alternatively, for home users, you can pick up a GL.iNet Flint 2 WiFi router, it includes a "AdGuard Home" license.

If you deploy Flint router, your entire home devices will have the peace of mind of blocking ads, malware, etc. There are lots of free "block lists" so that you can customize AdGuard config. This applies only when connected to your network that Flint is managing (obviously)

I never understood that. I get annoyed often enough when sites block you because of ad blockers that if I disabled it at the router level, I'd be dead in the water w/o a shortcut to disable the blocker.
