$260 seems outrageous for this. Is that considered a "good deal?"

These are the premium 20v DeWalt batteries paired with one of their best chargers. Even at this price they're still very expensive. If anything this post should serve to put this kit on your radar if you're looking to score some new batteries, because they will continue to drop in price in the coming weeks.

Right before the tariffs started, I bought a kit with a DCD1007 (most powerful hammer drill), TWO of the 8ah power packs and the same charger for $260 farm and fleet. basically a better set of "premium batteries" plus the best drill money can buy. For the same price. So I want to say that this is an absolute dog shit "deal", but I've been out of the loop for about a year now. Maybe this is acceptable these days, but I'd have to be very desperate to buy this.

I snagged the same kit for I think it was $235. One of the best Dewalt deals I ever scored. These 8ah powerpack batteries are beasts.

What makes you say they will continue to drop in the coming weeks?

Btw, it does definitely seem like there have been an unusually high number of deals of tools. There was even a Bosch tool deal a few weeks ago, very rare.

I wonder if this might be a sign the economy is worse than disclosed, loads of tool deals (tho not this one).

Anecdotally, near me, a developer bought a medium shopping center, paid the long term lease holder holdouts to leave (took them 2 years to work out the price that motivates departure), tore the building down, then abandoned the project reporting the economics no longer work.

At the 9 Home Depot stores within 30 minutes of me, there are a total of 23 available. I will be going to pick up exactly 0. Don't get me wrong if I was in desperate need of more Powerstack batteries I would have already left to get a couple. But I am not and will wait to see if they are marked down more weekly until they reach a must buy price. As someone mentioned you could resale some or all of them, but a profit of $30 per kit going through all of that hassle just isn't worth it to me. Bookmarked the items page and will check the price again Monday morning. Thanks for the heads up on the clearance status though.

Very bad deal, Lowe's has been popping off deals with the 8ah power pack that make buying this hey bad idea. They had get three free tools with the two pack in November, for basically $300. they recently had a seven and a quarter inch circular saw, saw blade and battery for $250. The saw alone sells for $259 new. You're much better off if you want this battery buying it in a kit with the tool.

Home Depot has a buy two 8ah and high speed charger, and get free tool where the batteries and charger are 275 prorated.

IME Home Depot has a very cyclical clearance process. The first clearance price is typically a small discount, like 10% off for a few weeks. If that isn't moving the product, then they will cut it down another 10% or so. They'll continue this process until it gets to the lowest price they'll sell the item for. For most items, they're ok with discounts up to 75% off. Popular items like batteries often sell out well before it gets to the 75% discount, though.

Not even close. I'm looking on Marketplace here right now and see 8ah Powerpack for $110 and 4ah Powerpack for $70. Multiple listings for each.
