Decent enough wired headsets. We issue these standard at work.
Pros:

  • Fairly comfortable despite being on-ear.
  • Sound quality is pretty good.
  • Mic quality is decent.
Cons:

  • Mic is not noise-canceling by any stretch of the imagination - these WILL pick up background noise. Which is fine if you're not in a noisy environment, but I find it amusing when I hear a rooster in the background while someone's talking.
  • Expected lifespan is 1-2 years; as short as 9 months for people that use theirs every day. Usually one earpiece starts going out, or the mic starts introducing lots of noise or doesn't pick up your voice well, or you have to tape them back together. Still, I've encountered worse.
P.S. One might wonder why they call it noise canceling. They're not outright lying - they have "passive" noise canceling, which means simply putting a hole on both sides of the microphone boom arm. In theory, your voice takes precedence since it's louder on one side. In practice, it mostly just means that you can usually tell background noise apart from the person speaking.

This is a great summary. It's a perfectly functional microphone. I have one here as a backup. They are not the most durable, but they work. I have had a couple over the years. I usually add a little windscreen to them, which seems to help a bit.Something like this: https://a.co/d/05ChWXYw

Also, the little clip attached to the controls is not particularly flexible and it not hinged and does it close all the way. Which means if you're trying to clip it to something thin, like a dress shirt, it will probably fall off. If you are wearing something like a zip up hoodie, it may be a challenge to get it over the zipper and the thick material

Been using these for WFH setup for *checks notes* 6 years now with little to no issues. Not the most comfortable for very long calls, but for the price an excellent pick up one and a spare sort of deal.
