Need to use before soil gets warm enough to germanate, might already be too late depending on where you live

Too late for majority of country to use this but stay away. Causes massive amount of dandelions, like thousands sprouted after using this on side of lawn vs not using on other side

Timing is critical with all lawn treatments otherwise you're spending money to create expensive and harmful runoff. Find your local ag extension office and they will have great application rate and timing information for your region and grass type. If you miss this application period wait until later in the season and apply for the second germination of crabgrass that a lot of regions deal with or save this for next season. I rarely buy lawn treatments in the same year that i apply them. Also this does not add dandelions or weed mater to a yard, but it is a fertilizer so EVERYTHING that has germinated will grow better, weeds included. This is why weed and feed exists. Apply it in the coming weeks when your turf is damp so the granules stick to the leaves etc. Then spot treat weeds with a weed and feed spray. Also avoid spreading right after mowing as you want the broad leaves for the treatment to stick to. Also try to avoid putting weed and feed down when dandelions have yellow blooms. Bees are more likely to be harmed during this period.

And sometimes even local advice is a hit or miss. Been hearing good things about Siteone supply so i gave a visit. Bought like $100+ something soil optimizer and weed and feed. Applied just as they told me and hell yeah now lawn is full of weed. My neighbor asked me to buy $7 Spectracide bottle weed killer and voila, it helped a ton. So yeah, sometimes the local guy is also an asshole and upsale you thats all lol.
