Can you control it directly via Wi-Fi or is an app necessary? I have outdoor lights that don't have a timer, turning them on and off is a pain.

It says it's matter compatible, most new items should be. So it should direct connect to the major smart device controls.

This is solid. HomeKit, Matter capable. Leviton only makes quality stuff so it will be pricier.

No idea what Matter is? Is this a new IoT protocol? I thought Samsung SmartThings got discontinued?
