The brushed tools you have linked are a terrible deal and should not be bought new.
These are an ok deal. The question is whether you want to be in the Dewalt ecosystem. Dewalt makes good tools but like Makita / Milwaukee you're paying a premium for the name and reputation. If you're looking for tools to use around the house you may get better value with other brands. Consider also that Dewalt sells outdoor power tools that use the same battery platform, but so do those other brands.
I have the DCD974 (one model newer than this) and the clutch is very weak. At the top torque setting, it's not even hand-tight. It's okay for light-duty drilling. Edit: this is with a 4Ah PowerPack battery
