I have the milwaukee version that runs on their 18v system, and, not exagerating, it was life changing. I have 9' hedges, and I used to have to rent the gas one, which was a beast to handle and left you sore for days on end. Was an all weekend job twice a year.
Now its just easy maintenance. Do my weed wacking, slap on an extension and the hedge thing, and keep stuff nice and tidy.
Only question is why they felt the need to go to 80v on this. My milwaukee one cuts through inch and a half stuff like butter on a single 18v, and will let me do a 100' hedgerow on a 5ah battery with juice to spare.
Any suggestions on getting a battery that doesn't include buying one at full price? I have plenty of 24v batteries, but no 80v.
Some googling says Greenworks 80v batteries can be slightly modified and work with kobalt 80v. Same with Masterforce 80v, Bad Boy 80v, and Snapper 82v. I feel like Greenworks 80v goes on sale all the time

If someone is in the 80V ecosystem, this is the pole hedge trimmer for that line. This isn't 80V stand-alone item. And mowers, chainsaw, snow blower, etc benefits with larger battery platform, but other tools are made for the line.

I did find this:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-8...5017411477
which looks like the cheapest way to get a battery with a tool.
