Intel only fans down voting like crazy today, but agreed. MC pulled the same move, $300 for the CPU, which is MSRP, and $150 for the board, which is the going price for a budget Z890 like this now. Would actually be a deal at $400, if you just have to have a new build before Nova Lake in Q4.

I bought the newegg combo 270k + z890 carbon for $560. Great cpu, after tuning ram and cpu overclocking is beating my 14900ks in everything (while been cooler and less wattage). Running ddr5 8800mhz cl40 without a problem

Of course it beat a 14900KS, but you didn't need to spend $260 on the motherboard to do that obviously. Nor does someone need to spend full price on this board, in a combo.
