Why don't office chairs come with these types of wheels?

Mostly to lower chair costs, but probably also to avoid lawsuits. I bought a set of these roller wheels for my office chair and they're great, just they are also soooo easy to roll. For the first year, I couldn't push back without the chair trying to roll across the room. Years later, they still roll like butter.

If these shipped on new chairs, clumsy people would hurt themselves fast and and frequently, then file frivolous lawsuits.

yes and no, i broke at least 3-4 of them over the years.. mostly because i used cheaper chairs and leaned on my back... so the wheel itself didn't break but the wheel holder in the base did

Caster wheels is a game changer especially over the wheels that come with chairs.

OEM chair wheels more often jam up with gook and refuse to roll, or roll to the left instead of to the right. These types of replacements roll smoothly and last forever.

This! I questioned these when my sister hyped them up. Now, I'm a firm believer! These are game-changers!

once you go with these types of casters you'll never want to use those cheap crap plastic ones that come with chairs again

ive been using the same set of casters from 2015 and i'm on the 3rd chair. they easily transfer to the new chair. i re-grease them every couple of years to keep them good and squeak-free

this is an insanely low price. i paid $30 for mine back in 2015

Recently bought dual wheel caster. The complaint of these single wheel casters is that direction changing can be difficult as well as gliding too much. Dual wheel casters help with ease of changing directions and add a bit more friction so you don't keep sliding around. However obviously is going to be more expensive ($25-40 for a set of 5).

Wait I see these for 15$ what's the catch? I don't usually look at caster wheels https://a.co/d/09yLikLr

Yes, I have them on my Aeron. Perfect.
Had these for more than a year. Originally bought because they make the chair a bit taller, so the adustment range was moved higher. They are better than orginal wheel by far, you don't know what you are missing, rolls more predictably, and works even on hardwood floor,

WHat lubricant do you use on the wheels? I purchased some white lithium grease but not sure that was the best choice. I need to take these off, clean them and reapply lubricant....that and clean the glass the chair is rolling on.

Once, a chair at work. But there's no way I am responsible... we have a handful of huge dudes in our office that break chairs and I'm sure they broke it, and I just finished it off.
