My best advice... don't use this to smoke from a metal "tobacco pipe".. I instantly regretted it and couldn't believe how I didn't realize what would happen
Unless by chance you actually wanted to know what it feels like to take a tazer to the lips... Dalek

There's no way these are any less disposable as the disposables they claim to replace.

Can one light a charcoal grill with these? With lighter fluid, of course.

Why do you say that? They require no fuel, no tanks, and the only thing likely to fail would be the battery which should last a few years at a minimum. Can't imagine a disposable lighter (and fuel) lasting that long with regular use.

FWIW, my wife lights candles daily and loves these. For $2 per piece they can't be beat against normal long lighters which tend to stop working very quickly when the end gets a tiny bit of soot or wax on it.

If you used a small piece of paper. I am sure this would ignite the lighter fluid fumes as well but paper would be far more predictable when it caught fire (vs just being surprised Wink )

They can easily be beat by the flexible electric ones, which are probably the easiest if your goal is for lighting candles.

Unless you are just burning new candles all the way thru, the flexible ones make (half or more used) candles a lot easier to relight.

I hope you didn't think I was being literal with "can't be beat." I didn't actually mean these lighters were the best possible combustion mechanism (for all use cases) humans had ever devised...and for every situation imaginable. Not to mention, there is no flex in these, so you aren't fighting a floppy tip Wink

But just to clarify for the pedantic: Clearly I meant they were great, especially for the price, and a huge improvement over the "disposable" lighters the clinteastwood was comparing these to. All that other stuff you edited out of my comment.

FWIW, I haven't tried the flexible style electric ones (butane, yes) however my wife often lights those very tall and skinny catholic prayer type candles, these work perfect for that. Not sure how much deeper / narrower you might need to do but these serve that purpose which IMO is a pretty extreme use case for most people. You do you though.

How? I have been trying to understand why you would want a device that has so many failure points compared to a tested butane filled device.

Yes, definitely along the lines of my choice for candles unless someone likes doing yoga in order to reach the wick on glass-housed tall candles that are partially used.
