At this point, find a used Bambu P1S or get an A1 or something.

Completely different price range. Although I do not disagree. I own a v3 se i would NOT suggest it. For a cheap sub 100 printer YES its a deal. BUT I wouldn't suggest it.

At this point and time, I would pay no more than $20-$30 for a new one!

For people that never owned a 3D printer before, I recommend spending an extra $30 and get a printer with auto leveling. This particular one is really for people that likes to tinker and tweak the printer. 6 years ago I bought a V2 and watched a lot of videos on how to make it work. There was a lot of homework involved. These days you can find much more advanced printers for about $120 - $130 that's almost just plug and play. For a little over $200 you can get any anycubic 4 color printer with a filament dryer. Less headaches except for spool #3 which most people have issues with.

I have this, but it's not all that great. I was able to start printing once i took it out of the box, but had a lot of failures too. If you like to tinker with stuff then buy it. I had to make several upgrades to mine. The ceramic hot end is a must so your prints wont fail as often. It is also loud due to the cheap fans, you can upgrade all the fans except for the hotend fan to noctuas to quiet it down. There's the navaismo firmware you can flash on it and it helps with the prints and leveling. It also allows you to use octoprint for wireless printing. After doing all that my Ender 3 v3 se hasnt had any issues. Just wish it was faster.

CE3V1 got me into 3D printing. Bambu P2S made me question my existence.

Worth a shot if you're somewhat familiar with 3d printers and just need to print more things

I'm not sure at what price point the V3SE becomes a good buy. I say this as someone who had one for a while. However, the reason why I stopped using mine is the reason why I find it really hard to recommend a deal like this. The Flashforge 5M is the printer that replaced mine and recently was on sale for $141. The 5M doesn't have quite the build volume (220mm tall vs 250mm) but only once did I ever print something taller than 220mm (it was 230mm). The 5M is much faster (one of the fastest on the market at any price). It also offers full wired and wireless network support.

I think the Bambu suggestions are silly here. It's not that the A1/A1mini aren't great models, it's just that if you are budget limited to say around $100 the BL printers are 2-4x that price. Not the same ball park. Conversely, the FF 5M is much closer and honestly, for single color, is just such a good printer.

My take on this printer is, it's older tech but still not a bad printer even for a novice. Were it not for a lot of very compelling deals around $150-250 I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this as a first time printer. It's not Ender 3 Pro slow, perhaps half way between the old Ender 3 and the modern FF. Contrary to claims by people who think this is the same thing as an Ender 3 Pro, this does have full bed leveling and auto Z offset. The bed level is fixed (unless you want to get out the tools). Having gotten used to USB and/or network access to the printer, the SE's use of an SD card seems really old fashion (funny what's considered "old fashion" in 3D printers). The interface screen is limited but honestly works well. My biggest issues with the printer was I had to adjust the Z-offset when I changed from the factory PC to a PEI build plate. Other than speed and having to use the SD card to load files, it's really not a bad printer and can do some decent work so long as you stick with PLA and other entry level materials.

However, one other big issue is Creality Ebay refurbs. Lots of stories about people getting something less than "refurbished". I have to admit I've purchased two printers from them. The Ender 3 S1 Pro was not as described. I was expecting "for parts" and I got "new in box, never assembled". Basically for a stupidly low price at the time I got a new printer. The second was my K1max. It did looked like a reasonable "used a few times, returned" deal. It included everything and worked nicely. The only "issue" was a slight rub mark on the build plate that can be seen on prints. However, your luck may be different. If these were new condition for this price I think I would say, "good starter printer". Not sure given the risks with "refurb". Is a bad print because the V3SE is bad or just you got a bad model?
