This Ninja countertop oven is best as a fast, versatile replacement for a regular oven, with strong results for roasting, baking, toast, reheating, and sheet pan meals. The air roast and air fry functions handle frozen foods, pizza, chicken, and even turkey well, and the included thermometer is handy for holding temperature or checking doneness. The main tradeoff is that it is not as crisp or as quick as a dedicated basket air fryer, especially for fries, nuggets, or greasy foods. It also uses a lot of power and can be overkill for small meals, making it a solid fit if you want one appliance to do most kitchen jobs.
people who bake and roast often but still want air-fry convenience because commenters say they use it all the time instead of a full-size oven for baking/roasting and even reheat/broil functions, with the air-fry function described as "ok."
home cooks who want a countertop "do-it-all" oven because it can replace a full-size oven for air frying, toasting, baking, and air-roasting (including roasting thicker items and cooking frozen pot pies in about half the standard oven time).
busy households cooking for gatherings because it handled reasonable-sized turkeys well and also cooked large batches like frozen plantains for a potluck.
buyers who care about meat doneness control because the included meat probe was described as "super helpful," including holding temps as low as ~100°F for timing dinner.
people who mainly want crisping for sheet-pan style meals (not just fries) because commenters say it's good for cooking chicken and vegetables on a sheet pan, reheating pizza, toasting, cookies/bread, and even dehydrating jerky.
owners who want fast preheat and multi-level cooking because one commenter said it preheats in under a minute and can cook on 2 levels while barely using their regular oven.
air-fryer-only shoppers who expect dedicated-basket performance because multiple commenters say the oven air-fry function is weaker than a dedicated basket air fryer and can take ~50% longer (and may not crisp as well).
people who primarily want very crisp fries or nuggets because commenters say it isn't a good air fryer for that and requires more rack/temperature "fanangling" to get results.
buyers who rely on the included meat thermometer for meat doneness because one commenter said meats "don't seem to come out good" when using the thermometer and would skip it.
people who cook a lot of greasy foods because commenters report splatter and that it struggles with greasy items compared with a regular basket air fryer.
buyers who need long-term reliability without hassle because one commenter reported their unit worked but later had bake-setting issues, and their brother's unit died twice with limited replacement support.
It works well for roasting and many oven tasks, including tri-tip, frozen pizza, plantains, chicken, vegetables, and reheating. Baking is the main weak spot for some users, with reports that it can finish earlier than the recipe time and is not as strong as its roasting and air-roast functions.
It air fries, but it is generally slower and less crisp than a dedicated basket model. Several comments say it takes longer, can struggle with fries and nuggets, and may need more rack/temp management, while still working well for sheet-pan cooking, reheating, toast, and roasting.
Yes for many households: it can handle baking, roasting, toast, broiling, reheating, and air roasting, and some owners say it has nearly replaced their full-size oven. It also preheats in under a minute and can cook on two levels, but it uses a lot of power and is overkill for small meals.
The deal is notable because the price reportedly swings between about $430 and this sale price every couple of months. At the sale price, owners describe it as a staple kitchen appliance and a strong buy, especially if you want a countertop oven that can also air fry.
The probe can be very helpful for holding or monitoring temperature, including keeping food warm around 100°F. But one owner says meats did not come out well with the thermometer and would choose the cheaper version without it, so its value depends on how much you plan to use it.
These positive comments kind of smell of bots. We've been looking for an air fryer that doesn't have as much non-stick crap as the ninja air fryer we currently have. I've heard these 2-in-1 toaster over/air fryers don't do nearly as good a job at air frying as a dedicated air fryer. Is that the case here or have people actually had better experiences air frying in this?
This is a great oven. I use the broil and reheat functions often. Mostly use it to bake things. Sometimes roast meats. It does all of that great. But, it isn't as great at air frying. It will do it, but it takes 50% longer than my Cosori air fryer. And, everything drips / drops down through the basket. My house smells of the roast and plantains I cooked in my Ninja oven. I have never smelled a bot, so don't know what that's like.

I have this unit but the one before it without the metal facade by the buttons. I'm sure it works identically. With that said- it's a great oven for most things that an oven would do including making great toast, but it's honestly not a good air fryer. It takes way more work and fanangling with the temps and rack/ mixing around than it should and you don't usually end up with that air fryer crisp no matter what since it has so much air to move, which also leads to a very loud cooking process. It will dehydrate jerky pretty well also, I've used it for that a few times. We use it every day and really like it, but keep in mind if all you want is very crisp fries and nuggets like some may want from an air fryer this probably isn't it. Smaller ones do that job a lot better. But, if you want to cook a nice sheet pan of chicken and vegetables, reheat pizza, toast a sandwich, make cookies or bread, make jerky etc- this may be great for you. One of my favorite things is keeping food or plates hot using the dehydrate setting at 150°. That's been awesome. I got mine for like $150 with a warranty at Best Buy and at that price it's a no brainer.
Great oven. I have cooked 100s of chicken nuggets and tater tots… I got the Costco version a year ago. I barely use my regular oven. The ninja can cook on 2 levels and it preheats for less than a minute. I am honestly thinking to buy one just for the trays and baskets. Those stuffs are expensive on the Ninja website
