I was super close to pulling the trigger, but the description has a can't miss, very large red text font in the middle of the page that says "CONDITION REMINDER: May have larger scratches or dents & may be missing parts, accessories, or packaging". I'm not concerned about missing parts or accessories on a solar panel that has MC4 pigtail connections, but I am worried if I get a banged up panel with large scratches on it, I have nothing to stand on because they literally said it might come that way. I'll just wait till they go on sale for $199 for brand new. Which they do periodically. Good luck.

Same here, if it comes all scratched up, not much I could do.

Right, not when they tell you it might come that way before you buy it. They are very clear and up front about it too, using a can't miss very large & colored font smack dab in the middle of the listing. It's literally in a larger font than they use to list the item specifics and features.

They also say "works like new" so if the scratches were big enough to impact the function of the panels, that's not really working like new.

In one of the pictures, It says it has a bifacial design that collects up to 28% more energy, but right above that claim, it show's a chart showing it maxing out at 24.8% more. I know it's not a substantial difference but still, my OCD was kicking in. LOL

Missing fine print: 28% requires two suns 🤣

Problem with working like new is what's working like new? How do you know? Depending on how much solar irradiance you get in your part of the country highly dictates how much wattage you can get and it can vary greatly. Some people will leave reviews saying panels suck saying they only get 120 or so watts while others in different parts of the country will get over 200 with the same panels. People leaving reviews really need to state where they live when they claim their panels are only getting so and so watts. Without location, claiming your getting "this many watts" means little. You can find solar irradiance charts online to find out exactly how much sun you get on average per square meter and what time of year in your town. For example, my 400-watt permanent solar array on top of my van only gets a little over 200 watts in perfect conditions here where I live in Idaho, but I was getting 350 plus with the same panels in San Diego. Thats a massive difference. Typically the closer you are to the equator means the closer you are to the sun so the more power you can collect. A lot of experts will actually recommend buying the cheapest panel you can get because, as long as they are the same panel tech, they will perform close to the same no matter what brand. Smaller panels that claim as much power as larger ones are for the most part BS. Panel size is the number one determining factor in what dictates how much solar energy it can collect. It comes down to nobody is using or even has technology that's substantially better than anyone elses.

It all just comes down to personal preference. For me, I'll pay the extra 30 bucks to guarantee my panel is brand new and doesn't come banged or scratched up. Others don't care as long as it functions properly. To each their own. My guess is even if it is banged or scratched up, it will perform the same.

I want to ship it to Puerto Rico, at this price level i would pull the trigger and get 3 units, but refurb missing parts and scratches is a gamble. No returns once is at the Island of enchantment.
