The Eufy SoloCam E30 kit stands out as a solar powered wireless camera setup that is easy to place where running wires is impractical, such as an apartment balcony, shed, or temporary mount. The cameras and solar charging are described as working well, and the Homebase setup can record locally. The main tradeoffs are app reliability and wireless security concerns, since the app can crash and Wi Fi based cameras can be disrupted. The fixed solar panel also limits placement in shaded spots, making it a practical fit when flexibility matters more than hardwired reliability.
people doing basic surveillance who want solar Wi‑Fi cameras that work well for the camera/solar charging because commenters said the camera itself works great and that for basic surveillance these are "great" (even if they may not stop a determined break-in)
apartment balcony or shed setups where you can't run wires because running lines might require hiring someone, and the $300 buys a lot of convenience for a temporary/permission-limited install
single-story homes where you can mount the camera so the solar panel gets sun because the gutter-mount style setup can position the panel in direct light and the height works well for a single-story gutter
buyers who can connect the system to Homebase because one commenter noted it records locally when connected to Homebase, which changes the risk profile versus relying only on app access
homeowners expecting the cameras to prevent break-ins because commenters warned that Wi‑Fi jamming is common practice and that these will most likely be bypassed (even with tools like a FlipperZero)
people who need reliable app playback of multiple events because one user reported the Eufy app crashes regularly and can prevent viewing all recorded events once you try to watch three or more
buyers who want to place cameras in shaded areas because commenters said the affixed solar variants can't really be placed in shade, while wired solar panel models allow more flexible placement
buyers who want to avoid battery/charging hassle entirely by replacing existing Ring/Wyze devices because a commenter with multiple Ring and Wyze battery devices said they were annoyed with changing batteries but weren't sure the higher price tag would be worth replacing everything

my reolink with a hard drive in a safe was a much larger investment that would be ridiculous for some folks.
I guess my point is, these are hot sellers ( just solar wifi cams in general ) for a good reason even if they don't fit our needs.

Also poe suffers during a power outage. You would need a good UPS/battery if the power is out for longer than a few minutes.
The total cost you of just 4 hardwired cameras and local storage unit is 1k. I have teleco ran for work and if you want a professional look your looking at 600 to 1k dollars per Running based on the location. Now a battery that size you need at least 2000WH for a dew hrs which is going to coat 600.
These are $300 you can add a homebase which is 150 but not required. The ups for the homebase cost far less because it doesnt use a lot of power so $400 for 1000WH
