Reminder: This is a renamed Ryzen 7 6800HS (Zen 3+) with 680m graphics, and not the 780m that comes in REAL 7000 (Zen 4) series APUs.
Still one of the better iGPUs.

Good price. Standout feature is 3x ssd slots and 2x 2.5gb Ethernet. Oculink and thunderbolt for egpu is nice too.

Slightly slower than the popular k8 pro but the extra ssd and better port arrangement made it a better choice for me.

This would $250 if it wasn't for the data center bubble.

Yes. But at some point the conveyor belt will be thrown into reverse and there will be massive liquidation sales.

Kind of a lackluster config. The Origimagic A1 has 1TB of storage, and a notably faster processor (7840HS) for almost the same price. Only real difference in ports is this one has 2x LAN ports instead of one on the Origimagic.

Anyone know if this is better than the to be released Steam Machine? This is about how much I wanted to spend on the SM, but it's still unreleased. I hear good things about Bazzite too.

For gaming likely no way. The Steam machine will be double the price and maybe less powerful in a windows environment.

The Steam Machine GPU was meant to be a Radeon 7600 - 7600M XT equivalent, which would absolutely destroy the 680m and 780m. Even comparing the 780m, the 7600XT is 200-300% faster, depending on the game. The 7600XT is also generally 200% faster than the modern 890m.

You really can't compare any iGPU to a modern dedicated GPU, outside of the very expensive Ryzen AI Max 395 Radeon 8060s equipped PCs. That thing compares well to RTX 4060 mobiles, but is almost always in a PC above $1200, often closer to $2000.

Expect the Steam Machine to be a low-midrange gaming PC when specs are finalized. The previous "finalized" specs before the DRAM/NAND bubble ruined Valve's plans was effectively a low-midrange gaming PC, so we can guess Valve's performance target will be near that again if they finally reach production.
