The kit at Lowe's is a 20v saw where as this deals is for a different 60v saw. This saw has substantially more power (from what I've read it has similar power when compared to the DWS 780 but superior dust collection) and run time with the included 9Ah Flexvolt battery is also better than the 20v. A few things to consider when deciding between these two deals. 1) This saw can only run on 60v Flexvolt batteries while the 20v can run on both 20v (recommended 8ah Powerpack, 5ah Powerstack, 8ah XR or 6ah XR) or 60v Flexvolt batteries. 2) This kit comes with a 6ah charger while the 20v saw kit comes with an 8ah fast charger. 3) To the extent you plan to use the battery on other Dewalt 20v tools, the 8ah Powerpack is a far superior battery when compared to the 9ah Flexvolt. It is much smaller (although still not small), produces more power in 20v tools, and has a longer duty cycle due to its tabless cell technology. To the extent you have Dewalt's outdoor equipment or the 60v 7 1/4" sidewinder circular saw (the most power saw in its class currently on the market), the 9ah is the better choice. 4) In reading reviews, this saw doesn't seem to be as reliable as the 20v from Lowe's. 5) If you are looking for the best cordless miter saw, take a look at the Flex 24v 12" sliding miter saw kit that comes with the 10ah Stack Lithium battery and 280 watt fast charger. It is more expensive (I believe the kit price is $938 on Ohio Power Tools and Acme Power Tools), but it is a better saw and the included battery is insanely powerful (produces 2,500 watts compared to a standard 120v watt outlet that delivers 1,800 watts) and charges extremely fast on the 280 watt charger. Flex's warranty is 5 years (saw, battery and charger) if you register it in the first 30 days vs Dewalt's 3 year warranty. I've also found Flex's customer service to far superior if you have an issue with their tools or batteries. You can also buy an adapter that allows you to run the saw corded, although it does cost an additional $212 and is really only meant to be used with the miter saw and Flex's cordless table saw. 6) Unless you need the cordless feature of this saw, wait for a deal on the DWS780 or buy one used. I bought mine used in like-new condition for $400 and it is a beast. Tons of power, has the XPS shadow line and will probably out live me. You don't need to worry about which battery system you are one, no batteries to recharge or replace, and has excellent resale value if you take care of it. The dust collection is horrible, but ShopNation sells an aftermarket kit that substantially improves dust collection. 7) All of these saw are heavy and you will either want them in a dedicated miter station or on a miter stand with wheels that you can keep the saw mounted when storing. I have the Bosch T4 Gravity Assist miter saw stand, which is the best on the market, but Rigid is also good, especially if you can get it on sale. I would avoid the Dewalt rolling stand. From what I've read, the hydraulic system is prone to failure.
