The Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed5 is not recommended for use under trees. This product contains herbicides (2,4-D and Dicamba) that can harm tree roots and potentially kill desirable plants.

The product label specifically warns about protecting desirable plants, and customers have reported it can damage garden plants when overspray occurs. Tree root zones extend well beyond the drip line, so applying weed killer near trees risks root uptake of the herbicides.
