See photo of NSF Standard #2 (American National Standard For Food Handling Equipment) marking on the bucket.

Per NSF:

"NSF/ANSI 2-2025 covers the minimum food protection and sanitation requirements for the materials, design, fabrication, construction, and performance of food handling equipment. Such equipment includes bakery, cafeteria, kitchen, and pantry units and other handling and processing equipment like tables and components, counters, tableware, hoods, shelves, and sinks, among others.

Considerations in play here include the smoothness of angles and corners in a food zone, the usage of fasteners, latches, hinges, and the cleanability of various components for sanitation. These concerns, as well as many others, are outlined in the NSF/ANSI 2-2025 standard."

Never saw these in the warehouse. What area of a warehouse would one commonly find these in?
In central NJ, they were prominently displayed in the very first isle along your right once you scan membership and enter. Right before the turn to the left towards the rest of the warehouse.

Good deal, but check Marketplace. You may have local food producers that sell food safe buckets with lids for $1 to $3

Item # 353111 at Costco. Good quality. $8.99 regular price. Each store's Manager can set their own clearance price.

This is not a clearance price. Store-specific clearance pricing is .47/.49/.00

It's $4.99 after $4 off at my local warehouse (Folsom). This is super cheap. I will plan to replace my old Lowe's one with these for using with dual bucket car wash. Thanks OP.

I don't see what the market is here? No lids, most people will want lids. But more importantly, anything I need a bucket for I don't necessarily need a clean one and I have tons from various projects (drywall mud buckets, paint buckets etc). The only bucket I have that's clean and I keep it clean is the bucket I use for turkey brining (and that needs a lid)
I don't own any buckets, so these will be my starter buckets Smilie

Just came back from Costco shopping. Went for milk. Spent $200. Per usual. Picked up these buckets for $4.99. One of those buy now, justify later purchases. Honestly, dollar tree pricing per bucket for such sturdy one...umpteen uses in the backyard is what I'm winging it as Wink. Had half a mind to tell spouse when I saw the raised eyebrows while unloading the car that it came free with auto renewal but not being a natural lier sabotaged the otherwise believable lie.

so you have tons and you don't understand why people would want some as well? I literally have 2– Lowe's and Ace. Both purchased. Lowe's is cracked. Ace is used for mud/dirt/ weeding. I am always using the cracked one because I don't want to clean the mud one just to get it dirty again.

They're usually in with the seasonal stuff (i.e. where they'll have fertilizer/gloves/yard implements this time of year), but I've also seen them back near the automotive oil & automotive accessories/supplies.

I checked stores in several ZIP codes and all came up a buck less at $4.99.
