I bought the Q7 without the self emptying bin and it works great. It's more powerful and has better LIDAR detection and navigation than my Shark Matrix which is just more quiet and has the self emptying bin. Currently the Q7 is $139 without the bin. After experiencing having to empty the bin once a month instead of once every few days with my Shark I think it's worth the extra cost for the self emptying bin on sale.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love xiaomi and have probably 10 things in my house and have purchased several for family including vacuums. I was just surprised with the low rating and issues on this one.... last vacuum I bought was Dreame which is a sister brand and is great to not empty the stuff.
If you want the mopping feature, don't buy this. The mopping pad on this is passive, it just sits there are drags across carpeting unless you remove it or program the vac to clean floors and carpeting areas on separate trips. I bought this one on Ebay refurbished from Roborock and I returned it for the Q Revo. Yes, it cost a bit more but it's just so much better. The pads on the Q Revo rotate, and when it detects carpeting the pads lift. If you don't care about the mopping then this one is fine. I didn't think I needed the mopping but now that I have it I don't know what I did without it.
