This using Micro-USB for charging, not USB-C, is the deal breaker for me. Who in 2026 is still charging devices with micro-USB? The last thing in the world I need is another keychain-sized or any-sized flashlight, but still.. I would of 100% pulled the trigger on this if it were USB-C. Thanks to SD, I think I have a flashlight and pocketknife buying disease. Thanks a lot SD. I have enough of both to equip a small army, but does that stop me from buying more? Don't bet on it. 😊 Personally, I'd opt to upgrade to the pro version https://www.olight.com/store/i1r-...hain-light, which also happens to be on sale, so certain colors are only $5 more than this one & it charges via USB-C. Outside of using USB-C It also has nearly double the battery capacity with 130mAh vs 70mAh, which, according to the listed specs, translates to a massive difference in runtime. 12hr vs 6hr to be exact. This is all on top of it also being 20% brighter.

Does olight make one with a 'zoomable' beam?
I know what you mean, but I've always disliked the term 'zoomable'. The light is simply being 'focused', not zoomed. Zooming refers to making an image look closer than it is, not focusing a beam of light, but anyways.

Due to it's size? It's literally a quarter of an inch shorter than the pro version, but what does putting up with that extra 1/4" in length on the Pro version get you? It gets you USB-C charging, 100% longer runtime, and a 20% brighter light. I think it's a no-brainer for most to choose the Pro, but you do you; nobody can stop you from preferring an inferior product.
Are you the vegan version of USB-C and flashlight? Damn...

NiMH is a different chemistry for sure. They do have advantages compared to alkaline, including
  • they don't leak
  • they have a flat discharge curve
  • much low internal resistance, voltage does not fade under high load

For those that really can't live with NiMH in their lights, there is a 3rd alternative for this voltage class- non rechargeable lithium AAAs. These also do not leak, and they actually run a little bit higher than 1.5v Wink
Why not also rechargeable lithium AAAs?

It would seem, the Anniversary light is not adding in anymore.

I guess the correct words are "Adjustable Focus". Looks like Olight doesn't do the traditional adjustable (twist) focus, they only have fixed-focus or dual-beam with 2 different focuses.
Apparently in the flashlight "enthusiast community" they are referred to as "zoomies" though, according to googling

Yes, I'm aware that's what many in the flashlight community call it & I understand what they mean by it, but it still bugs me, because by literal definition, it's wrong. It's just a small pet peeve. No biggie but the correct adjective would be like you said, "adjustable", not zoomable. I'm thinking saying zoomable is easier & more fun than saying "adjustable focus".

No, but add in a cell phone, wallet, and keyfob/keys and a normal man's pockets are full enough. I'm not cramming softballs in my pockets, when I have the same flippin tool already inside the cell phone.

Point being, either I unexpectedly need a quick light and can use my cell phone, or, I need real sustained light and would grab a real flashlight from the trunk/house.
So you only have one pocket in your dress? i carry all that in three different pockets and never have a problem plus add in a pocket knife and chapstick.

Those are natively 3.6 volts.

There are some models that are 1.5v, but it uses regulator circuits built into the AAA sized cylinder. This means you get a smaller capacity battery overall.
