Ironically ordered this yesterday. I did a lot of research on a new monitor to order under $1,000 and pulled the trigger on this one. I'm a graphic and motion designer. We'll see if this monitor is worth it, though. I have a nice 4k LG monitor from 2019 currently.

For reference I looked at a lot of 4K 27 inch and 6k 32 inch competitors. The $100 off this is nice, but I'm curious what it'll be priced at in ~6-8 months.

Dude this is still ips- not mini led with rgb. There is some cool tech coming in that space of oled- mini led - fast ips etc. 1k for this meh

Almost all technology is always cheaper 6-8 months from now.

The 5k monitor market has not budged too much the past few years.

Good to see more alternatives to Apple Studio (and dell, asus...). This is the first alert I have received in awhile for my "5k monitor", so hoping to see more deals in the future!

I'm just sharing my use case, but for context I'm a full-time freelancer and this a business expense. I have a secondary "monitor" that's a 42-inch LG C2 OLED and a 77-inch LG C4 OLED that I use as a TV.

I don't need my main monitor to be OLED or Mini-LED...I don't really want the local dimming. What matters most to me is strong color accuracy, good uniformity, sharpness, and honestly I want to try out a higher resolution to see how I like it.

For reference, I also looked at:
  • ASUS ProArt PA32QCV 6K 32-inch (decided against 32-inch)
  • BenQ MA270UP 4K 27-inch (was leaning toward this, but chose to spend more)
  • Apple Studio Display 5K 27-inch (didn't want to spend that much)
  • LG UltraFine 5K 27-inch (didn't want a matte finish, and the BenQ was cheaper)
None of these are OLED or Mini-LED. I ended up choosing the BenQ MA270S because of the features that help match the color profile of my MacBook Pro, the nano display, and I wanted to try out 5k. I really like my MacBook Pro's display, and this felt like the closest match outside of the Apple Studio Display.

I'm sure other full-time creatives might find this useful. There are definitely people who don't watch movies or play games with their monitor. This is just going to be used for work for me.

Maybe you might be right and this won't be worth the $900, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it for my use case. I'll report back with an update 🙂

I am also debating between MA270UP and this is. Hope to hear from you if 5K is worth the extra 400!

Well if you can wait a month or two I'll give you an update 😅A lot of the YouTube reviewers were given the product from BenQ so I'm also curious myself how much I'll like it.

Have you looked at the MA270UP too? It's about $400 less. I'm debating between these two. I wonder if it's worth the $400 on the display. Need for graphics too

Had the ASUS ProArt PA32QCV 6K 32-inch at work, the aggressive matte coating destroyed the benefit of high PPI when viewing text and graphics.

For a glossy finish on 5K 27-inch or 6K 32-inch, this is the cheapest option.

Just a quick update, but I love this monitor. I'm a psycho and work at native 5K, and I have no complaints. I just increase the text size on a few apps and Safari/Chrome. Love the image quality, color accuracy, and screen space I'm getting.I spend 80% of my time in Photoshop and 20% in After Effects. It's been a good experience.
