I debated on these and the hd 599se(open backs) and after many threads later, I chose the 599. I bought one for my sis as well because they were so good. 599 se are 99 at amazon every now and then, currently 159.
back in the day pc155's made my counter-strike gaming go from fun to a career, went into CAL and actually became "amateur-pro" gamer, loved the quality of sennheisers
I keep debating between the Hd600, 650 and 6xx. I think that's why I never purchased any, I'm not sure which I'll appreciate most. Right now I'm just rocking my Fidelio x2hr with the monoprice thx 887 amp, fantastic combo.

I would continue to use the Fidelio x2hr's if you are happy with them.
Of the Sennheiser group the HD600 original is the best IMO; the HD6xx could be had when Drop closed their doors for $149 which is when I picked them up; still prefer the HD600 though..

I have some other cans as well, k702 (original style), hd280, Fidelio L2 (kinda meh), Dt990. But I really enjoy the x2hr, I find that they're somehow both neutral and still kinda lively sounding. And the thx 887 amp made a huge improvement over the old Sony PHA2 I was using previously. I'm still kicking myself for missing the HD6XX deal. It was $149, I missed it, it went back to $179 and I was like, nah I'll wait for it to go back down. And then Drop shut down. Oh well. I have listened to the HD600, 650, 800, etc, many years ago briefly but I don't even remember how they sounded anymore. Except for the HD800, hard to forget those, they sounded great.
